registered as canadian immgrant in august 2005. move back to mauritius to get investment in order to come back to canada. Money is taking time to mature. i will not be able to get all my money for investment in canada by august 2008, by that time my i woulld be disqualify as a canadian immigrant. i want to conserve my rights as a canadian resident and though i am out of canada i want these days spent outside canada be counted towards my eligibility for citizenship.

have you received your permanent residencey yet? or are you still in the process. if you have your permanent residencey you have to maintain a residence in canada for 3 three years before you get your citizenship. If you don't time spent out of canada does NOT count for time with your eligibility.

contact your local immigration, call the CIC office or check out the CIC website.... from my understanding everyday outside canada doesn't count.

should have checked with someone before you left....might cause you problems in the long run
