Are you saying you expect every Christian to be perfect? Do you judge this gal because she doesn't see or understand things as you do? Surely you're not implying that YOU are perfect, are you? Could there be things in the Bible that you don't follow? I'd venture to say that the only person who's ever lived perfectly is Jesus Christ himself. It's a sobering thought, but you (and I, and everyone else) will be judged as you judge others. Put your stones back in the Old Testament and look not to condemn your fellow Christian brothers and sisters. You run the risk of becoming a Pharasee, and we all know that that's not an enviable position, wouldn't you agree?

You are right. Some Christians do not study their Bible as they should. God's Word says, "Study to show thyself approved." but alas, many do not--'specially the youth. You will find that Christians are not perfect, we are only forgiven of our sins. As to why some Christians don't take Matthew 5:28 to heart---It is because they have allowed satan to lead them astray. Men are visual creatures. Meaning what comes in through their eyes can affect how they act. Many men go around lusting all the time. But I would venture to guess that most Christian men are Godly, right-living individuals. You say you are not a Christian but you try to live by what the Bible says. That is very interesting---seeing as how the Bible explains to us that receiving Jesus Christ is the way to ever-lasting life. Don't you WANT to go to Heaven when you die? If you do, write another question asking--"How can I be saved?" and I'm sure there are many who will give you the answer. If I'm online I will be happy to tell you. You will rejoice in Knowing God in a personal way. God bless you.

Read again, Mr Perfect: "In his heart" - see that? There is a difference between doing things, and doing things subconsciously. By no means does this say that the two are the same. What kind of God could ask you to condemn your natural impulses, which he has programmed in you? What you consciously do counts. Thiis Bible text serves to illustrate how quickly you can get onto the wrong track - but it says nothing about not having certain thoughts. Sheesh, man.

Really? ****! I guess I am going to hell then. Dammit! and I was having such a good day too. There where these three hotties outside, a nice sunny day, they where wearing bikinis and one of 'em had MASSIVE real boobs and long dark hair, and she was doing this thing where she was wiggling and ..... DAMMIT! I'm definately going to hell now, aint I?

Man that's spoiled my WHOLE day!

IF Mathew was a genuine first person witness to these events, He wrote his account (with his own bias and spin) many many years later. then it has been translated and re translated. Are you expecting me to belive that mathew had such perfect recolection that many years after the fact, he had PERFECT word for word recollection of what Jesus said, and then wrote that in a way that has not been mistranslated even slightly over the last 2000 years? and then are you suggesting to me that I should change my behaviour based on what this bloke, whom I have never met and know nothing about, claims? REALLY?

Let's face it, if a person on television says something important one day, the next day the newspapers will all have different versions and interpretations of what was said. How can I trust the words of someone who wrote their gospel many many years after the fact? For all I know, Mathew wasn't even there, but is taking somebody else's word for it.

Why should I base my existance and the future of my soul on such weak evidence?

I'm not so sure that it can be helped without marriage being involved. The world's just going to get worse until the Tribulation comes and goes, after all.

True, it's wrong, and true, we get punished for it. But that doesn't stop it from happening.

If you are to stop it from happening, I would suggest a great strength of heart. It takes someone extraordinary these days not to disobey this commandment.

It's rather sad, really, but there it is.

I used to be guilty of looking at women with lust, I met a woman who prayed and still prays for me. I have stopped, and my heart is always changing. I seek to become pure of heart. I intend to be obedient to my Lord Jesus.
