Every other day should be fine, but basically you could break it down into two timelines based on how you work out:

If you do a full body workout with weights, you should do so every other day at most. I've read many fitness articles and such suggesting that you can even do this once a week (although your gains will be slightly less compared to someone who works our every other day, still if time a factor for you...)

If you alternate between different body part e.g. chest & arms, legs & back the next day, then you could just work out every day. You should leave about 2 days in your week for no exercise at all, aside from some light cardio, usually the weekend. Believe it or not, exercising too much can be bad for your health too ;)

48 hours, though working out within 3 hours of waking up is bad, or eating too much protein because your body doesn't digest it too well. At least don't do the weight lifting every day. Cardio is perfectly fine daily.
