The world has seen Hezbollah start this war. Hezbollah refuse to countenance a ceasefire and the world recognises that no ceasefire could hold until they do.
Whilst all countries are calling for a ceasefire they have all said that Israel has the right to self defence and to try and reduce Hezbollah's fighting ability.
The only way peace can come to the middle East is for the terrorists to see the futility of the deaths and destruction they are causing to their own people and stop doing it. A lasting peace may then be possible.
Since Syria is now saying Hezbollah must be neutralised there is some hope on the horizon. Iran is now clamouring to be at the world table discussing solutions. Both countries are the ones that have been arming and funding the terrorists. This seems to suggest that a wider discussion on bringing peace to the whole of the Middle East may now be possible.

Well why don`t u say that for bush and olmart?
they might take that in consideration..
You have 2 understand that this world is gonna end up in three ways only:
1-fight stops israel get her *** out of Lebanon and Palestine..get out hostages back and after that Hezbollah will give up on his weapons to the government.
2-the war continues, Hayfa and another countries in THE DOMINATED PALESTINE will be destroyed,, Israel would go out from this war with huge losses so would Lebanon but at least we will know that we have defeated the 7the strongest army in the world...
3-A WW III would happen and that is if Iran interfered so would the USA and other countries and the world would be in mess...

Once the financial and military support is withdrawn by the donors ofcouse the the gravity will subside, otherwise it will escalate! Nobody can stop it as it is, like the policeman doing at any traffice signal while a dignitory is passing through a cross point! Once at the mercy of the Almighty it happen to end, entire Lebanon will be a nice football/soccer field for international games.

Hezbollah refuse to agree to a UN bufffer force, without the buffer force military conflict will continue because Israel cannot lose face and back down, and the longer military conflict continues, the more determined Hezbollah become because its what they were planning, hoping to draw it on long enough for the Israeli population to turn against the war and cause a humiliating withdrawal. and we cant get military involved because of Iraq and because of all the reasons that Iraq has shown us about interferring with the middle east with military personnal

Well, do you remember when the UN voted against the war in Iraq? what difference did that make? The world can't stop wars because they are proffitable for some people (weapons trade, etc) and because wars mostly take place in poor countries which rich countries don't care about!

because the Sunni is watching the Jews trash the Shi'ite.
because there are too many radical Islamists among Shi'ites.
because political foudation is too weak in the Shi'ite run states, meaning they have so much internal problems (political fights) that they can't even put their act together.
because when the Jews sneeze, the Amercian will get a cold.
because the Jews is holding on one if Bush's ball.
because there'll never be peace in Middle East because they don't want to.

With Syria's help, Hezbollah has been planning this attack on Israel for years. Even after Syria's army was forced out of Lebanon last year, it continued to help Hezbollah entrench itself politically and militarily into the Lebanese landscape. Lebanon's former president was murdered by Syrian agents because he tried to resist Syria's interference and build up in Lebanon. The new president, fearful for his own life, had turned his back on the activities of Syria and Hezbollah.
Outside interference from other country's would prevent Israel from finishing what Syria and Hezbollah have started. Incidentally, Iran is very much a part of this conspiracy, so don't think their Persian hands don't have dirt on them, too.
Israel is absolutely justified in keeping up it's offensive, and I believe that any country that would dare to interfere, would be severely dealt with, by the US.

Simple.. bcoz they cant tell Israel to stop, as Israel is out to prove to its citizens that it can protect itself and is still a superior power in the region while telling the lebanese to stop is also fruitless as this is the first time it has really been able to put up a resistance against Israel. If hezbollah stops they lose control over lebanon or whatever remains of it, and if Israel stops it will encourage all its islamic opponents aka. hamas to use arms as a medium to dictate tterms.
So the rest of the world either dont want to be seen as anti-muslims or dont want to be seen as pro-islamic terrorists.

Because in order to do so they would have to do things they do not want:
1) Either allow the people of Israel to become the victims of genocide
2) Stop supporting the Palestinians until they cease terrorism.
