Good Question. The answer is free will. God gave us this gift so we can choose to love him or turn away from him. Lucifer's sin was not thinking for himself but waging war against God and trying to take over. I doubt the angels in heaven are all on the same page in the way they think and act. If they did their would be no point in having more than one.
God knew what was going to happen but to his credit he let Satan make the decision. Though he could have stopped him he allowed him the choice.
God then kicked out those who stood against him. But instead of killing them he allowed them to live. Why? because forgiveness isn't only for us...
If Lucifer was to choose to serve God once more I bet God would forgive him. That is just God's way.

How much have you read on this?
Lucifer was God's number 2. Lucifer did not knowingly sin. He thought that God was not doing everything right and that he could do the job equally to, or better than, God. That was where Lucifer got in trouble and was thrown (cast) into Hell. If you got a new boss at work who did his job really differently than the last boss, might you possibly maybe think you could do the new boss's job better than the new boss?
Is that a sin to think like that?
It was very common knowledge that there was and is no equal to God. Lucifer knew that. I believe that he just wanted to take the reigns for a while to see if the hierarchy of Angels in Heaven preferred his way to God's way of managing the business. What God says, goes. If Lucifer wanted God's job, he could have it...except God would give him his own domain to rule: Hell. Hell is a place of torment; not torture. There is a big difference.
If you are interested, you can even visit Hell. It is in the Middle East just outside of Jerusalem to the east. It is an actual geographical place that is here on earth. The description of Hell that is in the Bible's Old Testament essentially gives directions to Hell (but no handbasket).
So I don't think that there was sin in Heaven. I do think God knew that Lucifer would end up being the ruler of a place of God's choosing because it is in God's Master Plan, just as we all are in God's Master Plan.
I do not have a Bible directly in front of me at this moment and I will spell the Book of the Bible wrong so please forgive me. Look at I Ecclesiastes (first Ecclesiastes). This is the book that speaks of the takeover attempt by Lucifer and the beginning of the war of the Angels.
Don't want to start WWIII and these are the opinions that I reached after reading several places in the Bible that talks about Hell; mostly in the New Testament.
Give a few of us some credit for having brains. We know that these happenings took place before Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Finally, I am a teacher and would hope that you would know what words to capitalize in your questions (Names, Heaven, Satan, First letters of first words of a sentence...etc.

We do not know this answer-ask God....
My philosophy is that God created angels first. Angels are hard to destroy, and they were given certain powers and different things they were in charge of. (Not perfect--they have free will.) One angel, named Lucifer was an angel of music. He (and many others) wanted to rebel against God and become greater than God. So, God cast them out of Heaven.
Then God created human beings. I believe it is possible he did this so that any beings he would create to be eternal after that, would be only those that would truly love Him and not try to overcome Him. So, that is why we are here. Another reason is so that the remaining angels can see what rebellion and evil can do. They watch us and learn from this all. If we can love God in this evil world and with Satan's power around us, then surely we will love Him in a perfect place. And He will know that by what we do here. If we do not love Him, then he will destroy us and start new. (maybe?) Why keep creations that rebel and cause chaos???? Makes sense to me.

There are some things that we don't understand. Like why did God create Satan in the first place. He knew that Satan would create problems. Why did create Lucifer in the first place? He knew Adam and Eve would fail in the garden of Eden. Then why did God have to create that special tree with the special fruits? We have to wait to see God and ask these special questions. If you can't wait for these answers, please look into some Bible Commentaries. Probably they will be able to throw some light into your queries.

God created individuals, presumably angels are individuals, with a free will. Free will means any individual has a choice between doing right and wrong. Of course not every can see, or agree on what is right or wrong.
Was the fall of Satan part of God's plan? Like the irst respondent said, you will have to ask God that one.

Yeppers.
I think it had a purpose. That purpose was fulfilled at the cross.
All were found guilty so all could be judged righteous.
Evil represents our desire to be rewarded and punished by God. To prove through our own earthly actions we are worthy. This is anti-Christ. Because Christ was the symbol of imputing grace unto the world.
Does this change the perspective a little? Probably makes it more confusing right!?

It doesn't say that angels don't have free will. It is just said that they have no choice but to know that God exists, our separation from God and free will allow us to not believe in God. Angels know God exists. To be in heaven is to be will the father, to be back where we came from to be in hell is to be forever separate from that. To be with God is to be in his will, there is no sin in his will therefore it would stand to reason that to be in sin would mean that you are no longer in his will and hence "kicked out".

SATAN DID NOT SIN IN HEAVEN BY ACTIONS, HE CAME TO EARTH TO DO THAT. HOWEVER HE THOUGHT ABOUT IT A LOT WHILE THERE. GOD GIVES EVERYONE FREEWILL. AND HE GENERALLY KNOWS HOW THINGS WILL TURN OUT, BUT HE DOES NOT KNOW WHO WILL DO WHAT. EXAMPLE: YOU HAVE 10 KIDS, YOU KNOW ONE OF THEM IS LIKELY TO FOR WHATEVER REASON TOUCH THE STOVE. YOU KNOW HE WILL BE BURNED AND THROUGH PARENTING YOU WARN'EM, BEG'EM AND PLEAD WITH THEM NOT TO TOUCH THE STOVE, IT WORKS THE SAME WITH THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS. WITH GOD AS OUR LOVING PARENT WARNING TELLING AND BEGGING THROUGH HIS WORD THE BIBLE. BUT DO WE LISTEN??? WHO ARE THE APPLE PEOPLE? ARE U REFERING TO ADAM AND EVE? THE BIBLE DOESN'T SAY AN APPLE WAS THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT. IT DOESN'T SAY AT ALL WHAT THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT WAS. IT'S JUST A LONG HELD ASSUPTIOIN THAT IT WAS AN APPLE.
