Only the ONE is truly perfect: GOD! (It only holds if GOD does exist however...). I see people are worshipping their religion, their holy book... but not the GOD itself!!

All holy book were edited by HUMAN itself.... For example, Koran. Typical answer from Moslem is like this, "... Koran is the word of GOD itself. It came to to the prophet Mohammad what we had Koran nowadays, therefore it's PERFECT and CAN't be wrong!!" True, it came to the prophet Mohammed, but Moslem always denies/forgets that Mohammed told this "prophecy" to all his friends and followers, then they all started to collect and edit all this "prophecy" before it became a holy book named KORAN nowadays. (Yup, that's right... Mohammed never wrote the KORAN himself!!! His friends and followers did...) Of course, with this all similar procedure, NONE of the holy book in this world is perfect....

Is that clear enough? Do you all understand what I mean here?

For your all information, I BELIEVE IN GOD 100% !!! What makes me ashamed is people out there, who claimed they're religious but doing inhuman act... IN THE NAME OF GOD!!! I even doubt that they all ever study about their very own holy book. Just because they're taught that "...this book is holy. It's from GOD itself. It's all word of GOD. ACCEPT that! Don't even think to doubt it!!", they never even read the book! They just accept that as "faith". I don't see that as faith. I see that as BLIND BELIEF, and it's not a good act as the disciple of GOD... Why can't we all just humble and honest to ourselves that our holy book is not perfect, it's not that sacred actually? There WERE and ARE rooms for improvement, if we all truly open-hearted to accept that. Please, consider this at least for a while before blaming and condemning me as blasphemous....

People in most religions believe their holy books came from God. Yes, they were written by men, but many religious people believe that those men were divinely inspired. Logically, it would follow that if the writers of these holy books were indeed divinely inspired then the books would be inerrant.

I sympathize with what you're saying. I believe in God, but I recognize that there's much in the Bible that cannot be conclusively proven.

There are religions, however that do not hold that their books are inerrant or their leaders infallible. Scientology comes to mind -- its based on the self help works of its founder L Ron Hubbard, but Hubbard is considered to be just a man and not a prophet and you are free to decide for yourself what is true for you.

One logical answer is that they think the book is not just from, but OF God.

The other is that if a person accepts that there is -something- wrong with their book, then how will they decide what?

Many people who dislike cultural relativism would dislike the idea that *something* is wrong with their book, because if other people thought that, then they might ignore bits like "don't kill people"!

Those are the answers that assume others think these things through.

The other explanations include that it is somehow a part of faith that there are some who focus their attention or apply a heuristic such that the very notion of God becomes entangled with the object in question.

That is my perspective.
btw, I am an atheist, but in Australia, no-one cares about that, as it is easily demonstrable that faith does not equal morality when you have people of a number of different faiths and fervor around. :)

The Torah is in the bible (Old Testament) and God is powerful enough to keep it from corruption. All the writers of the Bible (Old and New Testament) wrote through the Holy Spirit so it is a HOLY book. Its the same God of Adam. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Joseph, John the Baptist, Paul and John the apostle.....same God forever......The 1st muslim was Muhammad and hes not the prophet of the same god of the Jews or Christians. Muhammad recieved his revelation from an angel (demon) and not from God directly like all the apostles who were before him that muhammad never listened to or believed anyway. His god came into existance around 600 AD. So the quran is make-believe.

if you want ur far from simple question answered, then just read a few books and think about it..
yes the Quraan was sent by God. mohamed momorized his words and went back to his friends and helped them memorize it the correct way.
wen Mohamed (SAAWS) died, they then started thinking that all the people that momorized the quraan where dying in battles, so they wrote it all down on a book.. not one letter short, they made sure that it was correct. and in the quraan itself it said,"ill give you a chance to write one line like the way the quraan says" and ull have heaven at your feet" .. Muslim experts ()shaikhs) all over have been trying for thousands of years.. and they cant do it.. y? because it was in Gods words and no one elses..
there was only one quraan yes.. and then they came to realize that th other places where islam was spread where begining to say the quraan in the wrong way , with diffferent words, so they duplicated the origional word for word 7 times , and sent it out to the rest of the middle east.

if u have doubt ask me watever u like.. ive got proof.

You are right in all except on the Al-Quran.
There is little space for education here.
However, the Quran was compiled some 1400 years ago.The original version compiled is still available for inspection. The fact that current Al-Quran is the same as it was compiled 1400 years ago is amazing. Can you think of any other book that can have similar standing to that of Al-Quran?.

blind faith versus true faith. religions are all about control. it was a good idea in the begining but as time went by, it was alla bout control. i only believe in total surrendering to god. look at susila budhi dharma or SUBUD in short. quite interesting way of looking at the worship of god.

Whoa honey, slow your roll....

The Bible is the inerrant and infallible word of GOD and inspired by his HOLY SPIRIT.

The only imperfection there is, is when people take it out of context or purposefully misquote it, as happens here very frequently...
