Good question. Let's view the phenomenon of Global Terrorism. Now there are no countries which are spared by this. A time will come when the whole world will be up against terrorism. Right now, Pakistan is supporting these outfits behind shadows. Very soon they will also realise that they are training their future potential threats to their own country, since terrorists have no loyalties. Even US will realise this, since originally even they used Laden against Russians. But at this moment a marriage of convinience and compulsion demands that they join hands with lesser evil to hunt down the bigger evils. Only when Pak becomes a bigger evil they will tackle them, of course again by using another lesser evil India. Let's accept it, even Indians harbour a lot of extremists, if not Islamic Extremists.

Not quite. The US never actually signed a declaration of war with any of those nations. However we are engaged in a global war on terror. With the parameters of this current struggle it has become abundantly clear that terrorist are not located in just one nation, but every nation. So when the US was looking for partners in the War on Terror it enlisted nations like Pakistan to help us find the terrorists and kill them.
So would it be wise for us to attack a nation which is helping us? Of course not. Any nation in the middle east which is willing to walk with us should be protected and not attacked.
South Korea, you are confusing with North Korea. South Korea is a free democratic nation which has been a US Allie since the conclusion of WWII. The reason we don't attack North Korea is because in that region we can use our allies and partners to help bring about change, China and Japan for instance have much more of a vested interest in achieving peace for their region than we do.
So the lesson is, when you can use others in support of a cause do so. When you cant, do it yourself.

They surely will, once they have no need for that nation. Dont forget that Donald Rumsfield went to Iraq in the past and shook hands with Sadam Hussian. That Iraq was fighting with Iran. Now USA does not require Iraq, only its oil. So once Pak has outlived its usefulness when Bin Laden is captured, Pak will be out of favour with USA.

Well first off your facts are a bit off but I think I know what you are trying to say.
You are trying to say that the USA has publicly declared conflict with Iran, N.Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, and Iraq for certain reasons. So then why do we not have a problem with Pakistan? I think that is your question.
Simple answer is that Pakistan is an ally. It should be clear by now with how we are supporting Israel, that we obviously support an ally no matter how horribly they are behaving.
I know.. it makes no sense, is quite sad and very hypercritical.

Was it now? Humm must are missed that one or is it two? I gets confused after my head started hurting from reading your question. We after many years of taking it from various terrorists groups finally, finally woke up to the fact that they want us all dead. Sadly it took the killing of 3000 people on 911 for us to start getting serious. War is never a good thing but sometimes it is necessary. And you can't fight a politically correct war and hope to win especially against an enemy like terrorism. They don't have any Geneva convention of rules to go by they will kill you if given a chance, and in horrible ways. Like cut your head off after they stuffed your private parts in your mouth like they did to two marines a couple of weeks ago. I just hope we wake up just a little more and take care of business with these monsters before it's too late.

pherhaps becuase Pakistan has not posed a direct threat to the US.Afghanistan was home to the Taliban, and therefore Osama,Iraq was supposed to have wmd`s( but I think there was alot to do with longstanding beefs with Saddam),and So. korea and Iran are starting to flaunt the fact they both have high grade nukes and are not shy about using them, and have had past problems with the US.Pakistan really never stepped up to the US,even though I know there is an ongoing conflict with India.

Hi Bro - We shouldn't forget that US considers Pak as a partner in fighting terror. However, all of us know about the ground situation in Pakistan. May be negotaitions in the future might give raise to a situation to take charge of terrorism related operations in a similiar manner that US adopted to wipe out Hizbollah and Hamas through Israel.
The same measures can be adopted by US or its other friends to wipe out terror cells in Pakistan. Soon to be a reality -we hope.

When did we try to declare war on South Korea? Why not Pakistan? They've got nukes. Better not mess with them. Granted, they can't reach the US, but they could easily strike an invading army. Then we'd nuke 'em right back. After this, the U.N. might do something (for once) and we'd have world war 3 on our hands. And noone wants that.

That's North Korea, not the South.
The U.S. declared war on Al Qaeda and the Taliban who were harboring them. It's not the US position to go after every terrorist group in the world. That's why we're not at war with Hamas, Hezbollah, or other terrorist factions in India, Pakistan, Russia, etc.
