His mission was to die on the cross, thus fulfilling the prophecy of old and change the way men became acceptable to God. His death on the cross and his resurrection 3 days later, made men fit for God when they put their faith in Jesus alone (and not in good works or obeying laws) to save them from God's wrath at the final day (day of judgment)

John 3:16-17....16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Luke 4:17-21(Isaiah 61:1-2)..He unrolled the scroll to the place where it says: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor.He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released.....Then he said, "This Scripture has come true today before your very eyes!"
Matt 14:24 - 24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Luke 4:43 - 43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
John 4:34 - Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
John 6:39-40 - And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

To give a better conscience and wisdom to every person, and a meaning to every person's life. Jesus also connects and personalises his relationship with everyone, by rising above human during and after his existence, and being more than just a human being, so that a person can feel his spiritual presence, and gather more moral strength when the person prays in a quiet place. One will get feelings aroused by praying to someone called God, than praying to a passed-away person. However, the moral conviction a person acquired by believing in Jesus, may not always be the fully right one or the full truth.

Jesus main mission was to seek and to save the lost. If you are lost in sin be aware that Jesus has made a way for you. Reach out to Him now for your salvation.

Jesus came to die on the cross for our sins, so that we will be able to go home someday, and be with Him and our Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit forever and always. He gave up heaven for 33 years to do the will of the Father. He is the last sacrifice. Thank you Jesus, you are the only way to God. You bridged the sin gap, for those who believe.

To take our place on the Cross at Calvary.
To pay the price for us so we would not have to suffer the judgement (wrath) of the Father for our sins.
To shed his sinless blood as the Paschal (Passover + sacrificial) lamb.
That we may be cleansed of our sins and made pure before the eyes of the Father.
So that all who believe shall be saved.

i think the name jesus is not from a single person. it's supposed to represent "Jesus" different deeds as an example to a better life or an everlasting life. it is said that it started as jesus is a word, the way, the truth, the llife that just became flesh.
besides in history, they no real evidence that a person they said to be Jesus is really that person. the person may be just one of the many example of being a "Jesus"

To teach mankind while He was on earth then die on the cross to pay the debt for our sins so we have a way to heaven. Noone should apologize for using doctrine, we're supposed to do that.
