Yes and no. You won't be destroyed, necessarily, but it can really take a toll on you, and, depending on who you are (your emotional makeup), you can end up obssessed by thoughts of the person for months or years and unable to have a decent relationship with anyone else.
By the way, I am one of those conservative people that you refer to as morons, and sex was created for a reason and a proper purpose and place, and isn't meant to be used as a plaything by people who aren't ready for it. That's like giving a 3-year old a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and thinking everything will be fine. A 3-year old isn't ready to be anywhere near a 12 - gauge shotgun, let alone have a loaded one in his hands.
Likewise with sex. It's for those who are ready and who are ready to commit to a life with another person and ready to be able to support children.
Venereal diseases (such as herpes, AIDS, chlamydia, hepatitus, etc.) are just one such judgement against those foolish enough to tamper with something they don't know about the consequences of fooling with.

That's a gross exaggeration, at best, at worst its a terrible lie. Sex should be a bonding and connecting experience, not just a couple of strangers getting it on. BUT you certainly wont be "destroyed" if you ever have sex with more than one person, or have a one night stand. Plenty of people have sex with someone and break up with them and are perfectly fine.

When you break up - you feel so empty, alone and nothing in the world can stop it! I eat to make me feel full again and then I gain lots of weight!
I even tried to kill myself once - because I really loved this guy and we broke up and I gave him everything!
I felt so depressed and cold!
It's true that you get a spiritual tie with that person and that's why God doesn't want us to have sex before we get married!

It's a scare tactic...just like when they tell little boys that masturbation will make it fall off. I'm sure there are some people who get overly emotionally attached after sex....but that's not true for most.

Nope, just a scare tactic. My ex was my first and I'm not at all connected with him. He got what he wanted and dumped me...sure, I was depressed for about a month but I got over it. It wasn't something that ruined my life.

Man I thought they stopped doing that ages ago the nuns used to tell us it was like giving somebody a piece of yourself. Well I don't feel that way but if I am being used by a guy I like than I feel used.

No, nothing could be further from the truth. Don't believe what they tell you, especially when it comes to sex.
Remember, Conservatives ALWAYS lie.
