We are all aware of it. I think people need to start learning to deal with it. It will be there regardless of of campaigns, classes, etc.
Forget about racism, racists, etc. Live your life, stand up for yourself as an individual but leave the race card turned upside down.
I think that calling racist is just an excuse to get by even when you're wrong.

I don't think there is a great need to raise awareness of racism--it's been a pretty prominent subject nearly all of my adult life.
People need to understand that racism is a bad thing, and there should also be a push to make people aware of things that can be done about racism and bigotry.
I know people who are essentially fair-minded people who would never practice racism who say racist things--including some relatives of mine.
I believe they know it's bad and that it hurts people, and I think they speak out of frustration more than any actual racist feelings. Nevertheless I try to counter those statements when I feel my efforts would do some good.
I'm happy to consider myself a member of the HUMAN race, thank you very much. Oh, and by the way, I'm Caucasian. Any person who belongs to any other racial group is also a member of the human race and that's the only race that should ever really matter.

Racists, I would say. No seriously. Let's say you go all week without thinking about racism and then you see a bunch of Klansmen standing around doing whatever exactly it is that they do, won't you be pretty damn aware of racism for probably the rest of the month ? Won't papers be writing about it. Won't parents be having talks about it with their kids ? So let's hear it for racists, for raising awareness of racism. Yaaaaaa, racists.

With kindness. Be careful not to show contempt for others who dont understand your point of view. Their life experiences are different and, sadly, the only way to bring someone around is through patience and love.
Of course, some governments try torture to change people's views, but I think most of us know that violence just backfires.
I learned a lot about race when I traveled abroad to places where I was a minority myself.

rexski-which half is white & which half is Asian? Are you split down the middle horizontally or vertically?
I think almost every one is totally and acutely aware of racism. While I think a few, very noisy people are still millitant about their hatred of people of other races, most people don't really care anymore what color some one's skin is.
