The addiction is a psychological state of every person. One are addicted to coffe, cigarets, smelling socks etc. Online gambling addiction is the same. There are less posibilities to loose your assets that in live poker addiction, because you cannot borrow money from online players or sell the watch, house or wife. However it is a very huge problem for some weaker minded people. One of the wais to fight is to ban online gambling sites. Some software companies creates such applications which recognizes and banns gambling pages like government in China.
I have read that in one gambling portal. There is a company which creates such software called Gamblok. Try to google to find more information if this has became a problem for you. God bless you!

I wouldn't say Online Poker is better than Sex, but all forms of Gambling are highly addictive. When you meet people online in a Poker room, chances are you'll find someone attractive to you and it's the best of both worlds! *wink!*

yeah sure if you sit too far out and can't reach the POWER BUTTON...but its all depends on if you are really in for real money or just for the fun of it with play chips.... don't see how you could get addicted to on-line poker when you could simply just push the power off button.
