Im 13, almost a C cup. Mom is nice understanding but strict on some points, like my breasts and bras. She decided to hose my bras cause shes experienced. Got me good bras but with full coverage thick tissue and 4 hooks in the back I hate them cause make me sweat in the heat and are uncomfortable But its her decision, shes kinda nice but I have no say on this. She says its for my best and thats how its gonna be. Tried everything to talk her out but she doesnt even want to talk any more, just say its decided period. I tried a small rebellion dont like this Im a good girl. Well got a light punishment to learn I cant rebel. My dad told me to listen to her and she says its out of love, she wants my best. What can I do to get rid of those bras? She wont back off, Am I stuck to them? Is there any way out or do I just have to give in completely and try to get used to my bras? How do I live with them, since I dont like them?

Trust me if you are almost a C cup you want to wear a bra. I'm 37 and currently wear a DDD cup and I'm glad I've been wearing a bra all along. The older you get the more the girls will sag and that's just tooo ugly. Ask your mom if you can wear a sports bra, they breath better, I really like champion. I can say from personal experience that if you're actually just a C cup you don't need a 4 hook bra, you could wear something a little more trendy. You can't however, wear one of those little bitty one hook bras, they're useless. Try a goddess bra, they're pretty, functional, and come in cool colors. I don't know what to tell you about your mom being stubborn, trying showing her this question. There is definitely a compromise available here. You aren't so big that you have to wear the full coverage 4 hook bras, I do, so I feel your pain. A girl likes to wear pretty things and while playtex makes the best bra, they aren't that pretty. You can have her email me through yahoo questions if you think it will help. Good luck

PS - whatever you do, don't buy the expensive crap that they sell at Victoria's Secret. They don't offer enough support, they're just pretty

She's probably trying to save your back, and also keep you from getting stretch marks. Both of those things can happen more without the proper support. Maybe you can find a middle ground. Victoria's Secret has a good selection of full coverage, light weight, bras. I know that many good department stores stock a good selection also. Let her know that you are glad that she is taking an interest in your well being and that you're not looking to get something sexy, just something more comfortable. Part of it may have a lot to do with how her mom dealt with the same thing. Be patient and be reasonable. The more you sound like you're whining or just plain bellyaching the more she will resist. I hope this helps.

I felt the same way. still do but I live with it. My school counsellor tryed to get me to wear them. I felt that it was an invasion of privacy, but nothing to be done for it. I was a C cup back then too, and let me tell you this: your boobs will sag. No joke. I wore no bras for a year or two and it had some bad effects. But I can live with it. You could just take it off once you get to school...

It comes down to whats more important to you: looking attractive to other people (because no matter what you can be attractive to yourself) or being comfortable now.

Look at it this way, you are 13, so that means you are doing 5 to 10 in the big house ( your parents'). If you are thirteen and that big already, and still growing, then it is better for your back to have the support. Believe me. Once you reach an age where you can do what you want, do what you want. But until then, have Mom take you to a fine lingerie store where they can fit you with something comfortable.

She's your mother and every mother wants the best for their child. I'm not saying that she's always right, but in this case yes. Probably you could negotiate with her if it's ok not to wear it when you're at home but you'll wear it when you'r out. Wearing a bra is good as it supports the breast unless you want sagging breasts.

When you're older and they're not hanging around your waist, you'll thank her. Maybe you can compromise with her about the style.
