CAN i copy my documents from my hard drive on another pc even though its passworded?

i removed my hard drive because i cannot use my pc. however i want to copy the documents on it to another pc but it tells me access is denied. I use windows xp

You should be able to copy the document to another pc, but you will not be able to open the document unless you know the password. You are getting access denied due to another layer of security is applied on the location of your document.
