The Church has repeatedly stated that divorce is a sin. If a couple is just incompatible after a few years into their marriage, wouldn't God be happy to see the two people be happy apart from one another, than to see them "suffering" having to remain married to one another?

That should be divorce, not 'divorced'.

Catholics believe that God established the marriage bond in such a way that a marriage between baptized persons can never be dissolved.

Matthew 19:6 says when two people marry "they are no longer two, but one flesh." and Mark 10:9 says, "Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate."

Tearing this one new intimately joined person into two is spiritually impossible.

The Catholic Church also leaves open the possibility that a sacramental marriage may never have existed. This is sometimes mistakenly called an annulment.

The Church investigates the marriage in question and can issue a declaration of nullity when it discovers that the parties were not truly joined by God and hence a full spiritual sacramental marriage as understood by the Church was not present.

If this happens, then both parties can marry (for the first time) in the Catholic Church.

With love in Christ.

Malachi 2:15 & 16 tells us God hates a divorcing. Matthew 19:8 & 9 tell us that "whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication (extramaterial intercourse) and marries another commits adultery".

Really in Gods eyes plain and simple there is only one reason you should get divorced, somebody cheated. If you divorce simply because you no longer get along but neither of you has cheated, then get remarried by Bible standards you have committed adultery.

If however you divorce then one or the other of you were to have sex with someone else then Biblically you are allowed to remarry b/c this is the only thing besides death that severs the marriage ties.

Christ himself was against divorce. There was exceptions that is called an annulment which means the marriage is not valid. This requires that testimonial be submitted by the two parties and witnesses. What the Church looks for is if there was an impediment to the marriage. A tribunal searches to see if either of the persons was not ready, willing, or able to get married. There can be any number of physical, mental, or spiritual conditions that prevents someone from being legitimately married.

They don't allow many things one like you said being divorced because you promised in front of god you were going to stay with that person forever, and yeah well god would want you to be happy but things happen for a reason.

The catholic church just has some kind of odd rules if you call it but i mean some are just to dumb to follow others are okay...that depends how into the religion you are also into!

No one person has the right to tell another whether or not they are accepted by God, priest or not. No matter what the religion.

Sermon on the Mount has some very true advice.

Most importantly, put your trust in God. People are people. Sins are just mistakes that get made. I would think the emphasis should be on forgiveness and love no matter how it works out.

Because they strongly believe that what God has united no man has the right to part. And you can get divorced but no catholic priest on earth will ever marry you in a church or anywhere else.

My mother was exiled by the catholics for being divorced.

Marriage is seen as a blessing, and the only way you can "legally" get out of it is if your husband dies.

If you feel you're blessed enough to marry this person, you should be able to carry through it.

But I think all religion is a cult.
