penicillin:I get sores on the back of my throat and it swells up, I also get sores on my lips I could die if it got so bad as my throat swells and I would not be able to eat or breath.

codine. very bad tummy pains and sweats the same for all strong pain killers. every time I get a new drug I can become allergic to it I must be careful. And watch every new sign I get.

Escargot! The first time I ate a bunch of cooked snails in butter I woke up in a cold sweat and my throat felt a bit swollen. I drove myself to a hospital that night but when I got out of my car in the parking lot I felt better. I stood and waited and determined that I was ok so I went home. Did I learn my lesson? Nope, I love escargot so the next time I had some I ate about 1/2 less than the first time. I got a lesser reaction of the same syptoms and decided not to go for a third try.

Allergy- An altered or exaggerated susceptibility to various foreign substances or physical agents which are harmless to the great majority of individuals. It is due to an antigen antibody reaction, though the antibody formed is not always demonstrable. Hay fever, asthma, urticaria and infantile eczema are allergic conditions and are familial in origin.
Please see the webpages for more details on Allergies and anaphylaxis.
