I was scared...and pretended to be cool. Just be yourself, and everything will be fine. You will find nice friends that your family likes. Good luck!

Middle school is very different from elementary school since now you have to run to classes in stead of having the same teacher the whole day. In my experience, middle school was filled with kids that try to fit in. For example, wearing all the cool clothing and bringing pop to school. This is one of the negatives of middle school but it is inevitable. On the bright side, there are many opportunities for you to make new friends and participate in extracurricular activities. Join a sport like cross country or basketball. If you're not an athletic person, join student council or the video club. Just participate in after school activities and you will find yourself in a better position when you're in high school.

It's always scary going to a new school and especially going to middle school because it's like you're not quite a kid anymore. Don't worry if you don't know anybody. Try to make small talk with kids at lunch and in class and ask them what they're getting for lunch or where they're going to chill, then you might get to hang with them. Even if you do have friends going to that school, don't be afraid to meet new people because they'll help you grow. Always have confidence in yourself and try to feel comfortable by relaxing like you're around people you know. Try to assume better about people even though their faces might make you want to assume worse. Everyone else is just as nervous as you are about being in a new place and not knowing people.
Most people say middle school is the most uncomfortable time of growing up and that was true for me. Not saying it's hella bad, just telling you that so you always know there will be better days ahead. Hey, it could be the best of your school days too!
If you use my above tips, and try to get involved in sports or clubs, you'll make friends and learn more, which makes you feel more comfortable. And, it's never too early to start looking into what you want to be when you're an adult.
