It was daylight at the time, then the sky went dark. Was the dark sky due to a total eclipse of the sun? Or was it the hand of God who physically caused the Sky to go dark. Afterwards, the dark became light. Does all this have any significance that we should be aware of?

I had saw the Mel Gibson movie. I don;t think it was that good. The one I put my faith in as far as being actual has been seen by over 5 billion people, & distributed in more than 800 languages. Then there's the Bible account.

All of our sins past and present were put upon Jesus while He was on that cross. He released them to the Father, and there were so many that there was darkness that covered the sky.

The power of the Holy Spirit caused the sky to darken and the earth to quake, on the day Christ was crucified, just as it was predicted in the old testament.

The date of Passover is based on the phase of the moon, and it's physically (but not supernaturally) impossible to have a solar eclipse when you have a full moon, the night before.

Good question. It was our Creator dying on the Cross, so the sky not only went dark, it went non-existent.... just like everything else. Until the resurrection, of course.

It makes for a dramatic end to a his life. Much if not all of the holly bible is a big fish story. Meaning that it wasn`t even written for about one hundred years after his death, and people tend to embellish events over time.

A storm perhaps, clouds can cause the sky to darken esp. dark clouds, my next idea would be dusk and clouds, perhaps cleared up just before sunset. Best guess.

previous the Earth's surroundings, the sky is black, besides the undeniable fact that the celebs are brilliant. decrease back on earth, the celebs are brilliant and there is an total moon and heat with somewhat wind blowing.
