Say it attacked you and its mouth was all foamy and its eyes were red. That way you can justify shooting it and prevent your kids ever wanting a dog in the future. You’ll probably scar them for life though…

My dad use 2 do this 2 my dogs and my cats and i did not know the truth until i started catching him in his lies. I looked and looked for my animals and it is a heart breaking thing when the kid finally finds the dead dog shot or a child wonders what happened 2 their pet. Tell the children the truth as it will be easier 2 go ahead and face what happened 2 it rather than let them continue looking for something they will never find.
Now for my opinion about u.
Just because u hated the dog gave u no right 2 shoot the damn dog. There are other alternatives and i hope that someone turns u in as this is illegal.
I have no remorse for people like u. If u do not like a person do u just shoot them? Hopefully not, but that was no way 2 solve the problem, and regardless of ur opinion on well it was just a dog does not get it with me, IT WAS A LIVING TRUSTING LOVING PET and u betrayed your children also by doing something really bad to their pet. PSYCHO.

why did you hate the dog? My dad killed our dog when he went hunting. I think i was around 9 or so. I knew it though because he loved that dog and he had tears in his eyes and my mom was crying-i guess i was the only one that was not crying. Just tell them the truth and tell them the dog went to heaven and that you will get another one and they will be okay .

My gosh that's sad. I think it depends how old the kids are. I still wouldn't thell them the truth though, it sounds vicious. How bout it ran away? If they're really gullible you can go for something crazy like He's living on a farm with an unlimited supply of doggy treats er some crap like that.

Be honest. It's hard to be up front with what really happened, but you don't want to make up a story and have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life.
Accidents happen, it's a fact of life.
I'm sure they'll understand.

Are you serious? If so, tell them daddy is a moron and "somehow" killed the family pet.
Hope it doesn't scar your children for the rest of their lives.

If you expect your children to be truthful to you, you need to be truthful to them.
If you don't mind if they lie to you now or in the future, then by all means, lie. But don't ever expect them to believe anything you say as truth for the rest of your life...
