boxers are good with kids. ditto for golden retrievers, briards, canaan dogs, collies and old english sheep dogs may all work out well too among others. resources abound on the topic). the thing is, no matter what puppy or dog you get, they'll have to be properly socialized to ensure that your new dog will truly get along with your children.

I agree 110% with worried about our country
My mother has a Boston terrier and has her three grand kids 11,12,&14. She got the dog when the 14 year old was 10 they drag that poor dog all over the place. They pinch her cheeks pull her nub for a tail, pull on the skin under her neck ( i feel sorry for the poor thing) but the dog has NEVER BIT ANY OF THEM!!!!!
I have had dogs all my life and have never seen a dog that will put up witht he torment them kids give her. When my brother brings his little ones out 3 and 1 they do the same thing to the dog and poor gypsy just lies there and takes it. When she has had enough she goes and hides.

Well first of all the best thing is to start off with a puppy, that way it can grow up around your two kids, that's usually the best thing other then that with working for the animal shelter I have found that alot of really small dogs and chows are snippy and number one bite cases.. there are some small dogs that are ok like the boston terriers. Just my opinion large dogs are great american bulldogs are extremely laid back and gently, i have two of my own and have breed them, I have a niece that's 11 months and a nephew that's 1 year and they pull on there ears and go around there food,, also other great choices are boxer, golden retriever, german Shepard, and many more but just remember its best to start with a puppy with any breed that u get..;.

I think Boston Terriers are great family dogs,We had them when I was a kid and I got one when I had my own family. I just had to put mine to sleep a 2 weeks ago, he was over 17 yrs old. He had been a wonderful dog, when he saw children, "He found his people". He loved to play, and was very tolerant of all aged children. He never growled or bite anyone. He was truly loved by any and all whoever met him. The whole family, extended family, and neighbor kids are grieving for him. I know one would make a good addition to your family.

I think that you should get a Pug. Many people think that they are ugly and not very good dogs. But my boyfriend had two and they were the best things that could ever happen to me and him. Once you see their faces in person and how lively and entergetic they are you will forget all about what everyone says about them. The only problem with them is that sometimes they suffer from leg problems in the rear, but most pugs don't suffer from that just a select few. Also they are great with children and are very great dogs. They listen, the learn, they are just great. And if you get two of them you know that there will always be laughs in your house cause they get along so well with each other that they will always be playing with each other or play fighting with each other. Plus they are just great when you want to teach them a new trick or say a word that excites them they get all happy and jumpy. They really are one of the cutest dogs in the world, in my opinion. Hope I helped you out some!

A golden retriever of course. A friendly dog! Do not ever get a toy breed dog as little kids tend to not see the dog as a dog but instead as a toy, thus straining the relationship.

a boxer is a great family dog, we have a male german shepard who adopted us and needs a home...lol hes a great family dog. but one of my favorites not too many people know, its a keeshound. one of the best if not the best dog ive ever owned. we had a female she was med sized, very loving, protective, {they were bred for guarding barges in holland{?} , and one of the smartest and most deffinately one of the prettiest dogs you will ever see. you should check them out! but my second favorite is a boxer good play dog!

Do your kids like dogs or will they torture the poor pup? Any kind of dog will be great provided they receive TLC all the time.
