Would really need to have more information to answer. Is this a skin problem? A muscle injury? How old is patient? Is there any infection involved?
Older people take much longer to heal, and infections may need antibiotics. If swelling or muscle injury is involved, rest may be needed and maybe ice/heat.

It usually takes at least 6 weeks for the initial healing stage, and up to 3 months for complete healing. Usually with a little caution, in 6 weeks you can perform normal activity. Let pain be your guide because all people are different and so are all injuries.

Depends on your age, diet, sex, what part of your body the injury is, how large the injury is, and what type of treatment you use for the injury.

Alternating hot and cold compresses are supposed to increase the blood flow to the area, There is medical evidence suggesting that this increases the healing rate for this type of injury.

One week to two months, I suspect is your answer, depending on all of the above, although if the person is older, it can last for up to six months.
