a person would say yes to drugs because they wanna be cool or they want an escape. i don't think the same logic applies with coming out of the closet

pediphilia is wrong because one person involved is either being forced or is too young to make a decision like that. two gay men can make mature decisions

ill give you an example to work with: (true story) i know a gay guy who admitted he was gay when he was in his mid-30s and that he was just pretending to be straight for years because he didn't want to be looked down on. his father now will not speak to him and he lost a lot of friends. why would he choose to give up his great social life?

Excellent point. I always wonder that myself. I can't see how christians can justify it.

I am Christian, and I don't look down on gay people but I still believe it is wrong. God gives everyone chances to believe in Him, and join Him. It is up to the person whether they take that chance or not and become holy with the Lord.
You shouldn't judge all Christians just because of things you hear, or have seen not all Christians are so judgmental. Actually you'll find some Christians are the most phenomenal people to be around.
I don't look down on a gay, or a lesbian. I just only hope they will save themselves because it's awful to know and look at a person and know that they will go to hell, it really is awful, it makes me want to cry most times when I think about it. But I can't be to sad about it seeing as they had their chance.

They dont accept the theology from the Bible. Yet at the same time, Christians "shouldn't" look down at gays. Jesus commanded his followers to simply love the sinner but hate the sin.
Many people don't believe the Bible is logically true. It seems unrealistic and too extraordinary. And if Jesus truly accepted everyone, why would this not include gay people as well?
That of course, is ultimately up for God to make. Whether a person believes the Bible is true or not true, God determines who He wants and who should receive justice.
In all due respects, bro, I personally do not believe a gay person can call themselves a Christian. Where in the Bible, God even destroyed two cities that were overcome by extreme homosexuality. If a person truly loves Christ, they'd be willing to do ANYTHING just to be with Him. Even if it means turning away from being gay.
But like I said before. We, as Christians, shouldn't judge gays. Yes, indeed, it is their decision but this shouldn't make us want to avoid them even more. Instead, love them for who they are just as Christ did before his ascension into heaven.
I admit. I have judged gays. And sadly, I regret it. It only gave them the wrong impression on Christianity which is really heartbreaking to God himself.
When Adam fell, dude, we as humans turned our backs against God. Man wanted more than God but later paid the price for it. In response to "why would God give us that nature?", I don't think that exists.
You see, after sin entered the world, it corrupted all mankind. We are all now walking dead. Without Christ, we are nothing. Because it was Adam's desire to eat that forbidden fruit, our hearts are permanently desiring to sin until death. That's our nature. That's the price. God cannot create sin. But he chooses who He wants in His kingdom.
And yes, naturally, this becomes difficult to understand. Why would give some mercy and some justice? Why would He even create us the in the first place if he knew we would sin. We as humans, do not understand the mind of God. It's impossible. But what we do know is, God is sovereign. God is fair.
Some might feel that's not necessarily true. How can God love straight people and not choose gays? It's complex indeed. Yet at the same time, one might say, "Was it fair for us to even challenge God when we ate the forbidden fruit."
As you can see, this is already starting to become more and more explaining. That's what Christianitiy is typically about. One point follows another.
But back to the MAIN thing we're talking about, God does not give us that nature to be gay or not to be gay. Since the day we were born, we have the nature to do anything we want. Only that nature is sinful. It's like we can have the nature to lie or not to lie. Does this make sense bro? I really want to get this point across but it's difficult.
Evil is always present. We always have sin. God even says that Christians will struggle with this. Its our hearts DESIRE to SIN. The only way we counter that is through Christ himself.

Bad argument, it's human nature. Look at all the pedophiles that get caught on Dateline. They choose to be pedophiles, don't they (unless you're going to completely overrule free will and say that everything is genetic, in which case, it's genetic for some people to disagree with homosexuality and therefore immutable making this entire line of discussion moot)? And NO one is as looked down upon as they are. In fact, every single person in the world does and thinks terrible things that at least some people would look down upon.
It's not like I judge gay people because I do bad things as well. I just don't like the conditioning of society that says it's alright. It should be acceptable for us to offer our viewpoint that it's a sin. You can believe it or not, but I don't like being called a bigot for following the dictates of my conscience and offering my view.

Satan has blinded people into thinking that it is normal, and God made them that way, so they would live in a life style of sin, then when they die they would separated from God for eternity, just like him.
It is not that they want to live in sin. It is that the Father of lies (Satan) has tricked them into believing that homosexuality is not a sin.
This may sound harsh and unloving, but sometimes the truth offends.

God did not give us 'human nature' to be gay. It is a weapon by the enemy to seperate us from God. God's word does not change. Any sexual sin is wrong. Being gay is no more sinnful then having sex before marriage. God hates the SIN, not the person. God will heal and deliver any one who wants to be free from any kind of bondage. Be blessed!

Saying Gay is a choice is stupid as hell, and I don't think people even think about what they are saying before they say it.
Ask a Christian if he can choose to be gay, undoubtably he will tell you no. I can't choose to be gay, no matter how hard I could try to see a man as a sex object, my attraction to females will not faulter.

To help god condemn Christians that eat pork, shellfish, those that don't offer burnt offerings any longer, and those that touch women while they are in their cycle.
And it's always nice to see an idiot throw Sodom and Gomorrah in there too. It reminds the rest of us how very little the know the word they claim to live by.

I am a Christian and the way I look at it is the Bible states that God created man (mankind) in his own image. God created gays, bi, trans and straight in his own image which leads to the conclusion that God is all those things. God is everything, everywhere and ever-loving. God doesn't look down on you. He created you. It is only some narrow minded, self righteous and pompous Christians who look down on you. God loves you.

why would a guy say 'yes' to drugs? when they know it could kill them, and eventually will. ponder this k
Exactly. ok i guess i shall explain myself now.....i think being gay is a choice, just like drugs are a choice. why do ppl do drugs? to be cool, or 'fit-in'. why would ppl choose to be gay? because they want to be cool and fit-in, when they're outcasts otherwise. this shall surely stir up trouble i know
