i am sorry to single texas out as the most raciest state is laughable! Alabama, Mississippi ( stillf flies the confrederate flag), Georgia all southern states are labeled as raciest due to the civil war.
Texas has more mexicans and blacks than any other southern state. We are not raceist, and although there are some people on all sides who ahrbor hate and racism but as a whole we are diverse, and mixed.
and we are proud of our accents!!!
and have 2 of the 10 latrgest cities in the USA!! so we arent all cows, farms, and crap !!

I like the accent. I feel sorry for them because everyone blames them for Bush. He's not even really a Texan. He's a Connecticut prep school boy playing at being a Texan.

I was born in Texas and I've lived here my whole life. I love this place. It's beautiful and most of the people are laid back. The only thing I can't stand about it is all the stereotypes. Like, most people that have never been to Texas think we all ride around on horses and that we're all cowboys/cowgirls. I also hate the fact that everyone thinks we're racist rednecks. I've been here my whole life, and I'm not racist, nor am I a redneck. And the only reason why people are racist here is because caucasian's are slowly becoming the minority because of all the Hispanic immigrants we have taking over our state. Yes, they are doing all the work that no one wants to do, but the point is they are here ILLEGALLY. If they want freedom so bad, then they should work for it like everyone else.

I was born and raised in Austin TX. I have observed a lot about the state and its multi-cultural communities. If you have a negative opinion about the people of this state or the state itself, what are you basing it on to begin with? People that aren't from here need to be aware that Texas is VERY large... and depending on which area you visit you will have a very different experience. East TX is pretty traditional and yes, some of the folk around there have been there for generations and are a bit narrow minded. That is no reason to judge the entire state. Central TX is fairly liberal and tolerant. There are so many different races and ethnicities thriving together in the central tx community that its pretty difficult to have a racist mindset. West TX is similar to East TX as neither of them is very inhabited compared to the north, central, and south parts of the state. As with any other state you will find many different types of people. Just because the president is from TX doesnt necessarily mean that all Texans support him. I think it's narrow minded of you (in a general sense of the word) to think that. I personally love living in TX. But to all of you with negative views about us, try to re-examine why you feel this way before you make assumptions.

As a native Texan, and after having moved to NYC, I'd have to say that their impression of us is over all positive. They think we are very jolly, friendly people but very conservative. The accents make us seem "trustworthy". Since I've moved to NY I can spot a Texan from a mile away by just hearing their strong accents. I never realized how strong the accents were. Oh and by the way, Texas DOES have the BEST food!!! I miss authentic tex-mex food!!! =(

Can't stand you guys, well not YOU but Texas, they are the most uptight racists bastards I've ever met, what makes Texans think they are better than other races, never in my life have I been discriminated against in any other state for not being white, even when I'm a natural born citizen. Thank god I'm from California, not to mention the worst president we've got is from Texas. Sorry had to be honest.

I lived in Texas for 10 years after growing up in Arkansas. I think most people wrongly associate the accents of the south with stupidity, which is a shame. I have a classmate from south Texas who hates his accent, but I don't care what people think about mine!! Texans are so proud of their state and it is certainly unique!

Everything good you have ever heard about Texans is true. Everything bad you have heard about Texans is true. It is an odd and dynamic state. I live in Texas. If there were better economic opportunity here, I would be inclined to stay. It is an interesting place, would make a great case study for a sociologist.

Arrogance......Thieves..........That's what I think.
You have this pretty honorable guy "Sam Houston" and for the last 140 years Texans has done everything in the exact opposite way that Houston would have done it and have always been arrogant about it.
How you gonna be a Union for like 20 years and then revolt against the very nation that helped you exist.
I am not Mexican(not even hispanic), I don't like illegals but I can't stand arrogant, racist texans who stole land from mexico then made the very mexicans who helped you fight Santa Anna leave Texas then enact Laws against blacks that you fought against when the mexicans treated you that way. Honestly...........Texas makes me sick!
Oh yeah, Ol' morono' number one o' George "yellaback" Bush is from Texas.............

What is there negative to say about Texas. Everything in TX is bigger. The negative things people say about TX are nothing compared to some places. We are not inbred, we are not cannibals and we don't bomb our own state. OK in ALL reality, every State, country island etc etc. will have something negative to say about it. If someone doesn't like TX then GET THE HELL OUT!
