This is an area of fat that starts to appear on men as they get older. It forms on their sides above your hips. It is called love handles because you can grab it during sex to make the guy go faster or harder.

It's those few extra pounds we men, usually have around our waist, when we get older, around middle age, sometimes younger.
"Love Handles" as they are called, is making fun of the fat. It's something a gal can grab on to, when making love.
So hence the term, Love Handles.
Not a serious, but more comical story.

Love handles are what people call the extra "fat" around the waist/hips. They are on both men and women. They are called love handles because of where they are located, which is on your sides. When having sex, most people grab their partners there, so it's like you have your own pair of handles.

ok, love handles refer to the pieces of skin around your stomach. when you sit down and slouch over, your skin folds over kind of...you can grab it (that's why they call them handles). i guess they're called love handles because people can lovingly grab them? i don't know.
