It depends on how bad the break is, if you really broke it good it can take 12 weeks, but if it is just a small fracture it takes 4-8 weeks.

I've heard that it really heals the first week, but you have to wear the cast for 4-8 weeks because where it healed is still weak.

When I broke my forearm, it wasn't a bad break. It hurt for about 3 days and then it was fine.

Most broken bones begin to heal within 48 hours however depending on the type and severity of the break it could take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to completely heal. Yes he would still be able to sword fight with his left hand but it might cause some pain in his right

It may take from several weeks to several months for the broken arm to heal completely. Rehabilitation involves gradually increasing activities to restore muscle strength, joint motion and flexibility. The patient's cooperation is essential to the rehabilitation process. The patient must complete range of motion, strengthening and other exercises prescribed by the doctor. Rehabilitation lasts until tissues perform their functions normally. After rehabilitation, the doctor may want to see the arm again to make sure healing is complete.
