The stretch marks will gradually become much less noticeable but will never go away as they are similar to scars. However, you can see a dermatologist to discuss treatment. Here are a few options:

1. tretinoin cream (commonly known by the trade name Retin-A)
2. laser therapy

Your health insurance plan will not cover "cosmetic" procedures so you'll probably want to find out what this will cost.

Try uisng Justine Tissue oil, it really works wonders. (Maybe even speak to your Justine representative and find out about the whole tissue oil range, bath soap, body lotion etc.)

It might also be a good idea to have your daughter's insullin and blood sugar levels tested as she might be borderline diabetic. If this is the case, ask your GP to refer you to a dietician who can then give you a healthy eating plan which the whole family can actually follow and gain by. Pls note that this is an eating plan and not a diet, so it actually becomes a lifestyle.

Good luck and don't let the nasty people on here get to you. Being overweight isn't always related to overeating, it's related to eating the wrong types of foods (which doesn't neccesarily refer to take-outs and candy bars). Some foods just have a higher GI than others and as a result the sugar releases into the bloodstream much faster than a low GI food. Also, if your daughter is borderline diabetic, the more wrong foods she eats, the higher her insulin will go, and the higher the insuling rises, the more weight she will gain. It really is a vicious cycle and can be life threatening. Please take her to a good doctor and have the neccesary tests done before her pancreas stop producing insulin completely and she becomes a full on diabetic who will be dependant on insulin injections for the rest of her life.

If caught early enough, the problem can be treated by way of eating healthier and no medical intervention will be neccesary.

Good luck and i hope it all works out!!

Use the same cream as pregnant women use for stretch marks, Cocoa butter.

Or Vitamin E Oil (I used this for a scar once and went away).

I think Vitamin E would help alot, also try those anti-strech mark lotions from Motherhood they will help, avoiding new one. One more thing don't listen to the person w/the twinky comment, he/she probably isn't a parent i know this is a serious matter. Support her and congrats on helping her. Good luck
