Anytime the kids get sick with the flu, my poor husband ends up cleaning the vomit off the floor, bathroom, toliet etc. because I can't stomach it. What can I do to get past that?? I really can't stomach it, and I feel that I should be sharing in this duty.

Go to a hardware store and invest in a large package of disposible painter's masks. It should help. You can also take some vicks and place some just inside your nostrils so you don't smell it as much.

There's no easy way to get used to it. It's a learned thing. You do whatcha gotta do.

Personally, I would let the husband do it. Why not? You've got a good enough excuse!

My kids were always brought immediately to the toilet, if they thought they were going to be sick. Now, they go directly to the toilet when they're sick. But, sometimes, puke happens.

There is no best way to clean up puke. I've bought one of those wet-dry vacs, but then they're so little and have to be cleaned out anyways. I just ended up throwing out the vacuum! We just use old towels that can be thrown out, and a really good disinfectant. If it's something on the carpet, we have a carpet cleaner at home too.

One thing I can tell you not to do is use the vacuum cleaner like I did. That thing will smell like vomit forever! When my kids were little, I'd put a bandana around my nose like a bandit, use rubber cleaning gloves on your hands, spray tons of lysol cleaner on the pile, get a huge old bath towel and throw on top of it and try to get up as much as you can. Throw the nasty thing in a trash bag, repeat as necessary. Then seal the bag, doubling it if necessary and that takes care of it! I've got a weak stomach too, but if I left it up to my husband to clean up, I'd have 2 piles of vomit to clean up instead of 1......so for 20 years, I've been on official vomit patrol! But thank you Lord, it's been a while since I've had to clean up a nasty mess.......but before long, I'll be having grandkids to clean up after too......so thank you for reminding me that I may be on vomit patrol again before long.....good luck!

"You put it there, so clean it up!"

It really comes down to a mind game in my opinion (besides the wonderful scent it gives off). If you start making yourself do it, you might just get used to it. I'm not sure it this is a science...it might be a just do it kind of deal

I hope your still checking this because there is a pet product that "freezes" vomit poo whatever it just becomes solid and you pick it up in a paper towel. no soaking through warm (or cold) mushiness. I don't remember what it's called but I believe there's a few brands so it shouldn't be hard to find. Yeah no mush that's my problem good luck hope it helps

You just have to learn to get over it. Kids and puke go hand in hand. If you have to, take a trash can with you to puke in. After a few times you'll stop. It's really all in your head. You have to just think of the sick person and not yourself.

Next time kiddos get sick YOU go into the bathroom with them your motherly instinct should kick in and you will be more worried about the kiddo then the puke. If not use the tub your kid wont mind he/she is busy them self's.

Spray air freshener....plenty of it. ANd next time your kidz are sick, keep a good sized trash can with a plastic bag in it close by.
