Religion makes people rageful and violent against those who might disagree with them. Fanatics can be very forceful and offense simply follows. Those who don't believe in the ways of "fundamentalist" dogma are usually tired of taking the anger, hypocrisy and self-righteousness from these people.

There's much more to it of course but that's probably the core of it. We just came into a new millenium which also makes zealots ESPECIALLY pissy cause they didn't expect to be here anymore so they are going for the big war and "let God sort 'em out".

Good question but not easy to answer simply.

Go naked mole rats!!!

Through the history, most wars were waged from religious reasons (extermination of the people who worshipped God in different way, and after that, taking over their lands and wealth.) Here at the Balkans, Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians hate each other guts. And why? Because we do not make the sign of the Cross over our chest in the same way, or because Catholic priests live in celibacy, and Orthodox marry and have family?

Because sadly, we live in a world where alot of people do not know the meaning of the word acceptance. People don't accept what they don't understand. If they haven't been through it, they can't usually relate. Some people think they know what's going on inside our heads, but they really have no clue. Sometimes it's just for the "thrill" they get out of hurting other people. What thrill they could possibly get out of it is still a mystery to me.

Because as the old saying goes, in a social setting you should never discuss religion or politics unless you want an argument. Man has argued this subject since the world began - whenever that was.

Instead of repeating the obvious which most people have done.

I would like to bring it to others attention that maybe religion is one thing that people think they know more about. I know little of math, poetry, teaching. I am interested in literature, art and many other topics, but I have more opinions and stronger beliefs on religion than I do in other topics.
