Specifically, my wife and I found the BebeSounds Prenatal Heart Listener, Model BE001 and are considering buying it but still are somewhat skeptical based on a few bad reviews, so now I turn to you for help and would greatly appreciate any help or insights. If you know of any other models that work better please fill me in. Thanks, from an expectant father...

They are a complete waste of money. I heard the baby moving, the kids playing in the other room, my own heartbeat, the water I just drank gushing around my insides...but no baby's heartbeat. And - I'm pregnant with twins!

You can get a fetal doppler on ebay - the cheaper ones are usually around $150.00 - and can go over $2000. If you really want to hear the heartbeat.

Me - personally, I'm happy hearing the heartbeat at each doctor visit. And I know that the money that I didn't spend on a doppler or monitor, I can spend on my babies' future.

I had the BEBE and it was a complete waste of money. The only thing I heard was the fluid sloshing around. Sometimes even the ones like the doctors use that can be rented don't always work. It always take my doctor several minutes to find my baby's heartbeat and I am almost 5 months along.
