Okay so I've finally had enough. Something needs to be done. Sexual assault is rampant and the offenders get away practically free for their crimes. Please, I only ask that you read my petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/60364243/petition.html and sign if you agree. I think something needs to be done. How about you?

Let me respond with this. There is a case in Texas right now where a man met what he thought was a 22 year old woman online and asked her out. They met at a bar where she had been buying drinks with a fake ID that fooled the bouncer and the bartender. They had a pleasant date, and ended up having sex. Afterwards, he found out that she was 17 and was arrested and charged with statutory rape. Now, because she knew exactly what she was doing, and if he had tried to verify her age, he would have seen an ID that showed her to be 22, just like the bartender and the bouncer saw, he would have felt secure. So, does he deserve a life sentence or the death penalty? Just like every other court case in the United States, these cases have to be looked at on a one-by-one basis. Or else we would have to say that anyone that broke the law deserved a stiffer penalty.

I am afraid there is no easy answer. To me it is "cut it off or sew it up and there is your cure" but all the bleeding hearts think that the sexual offenders have rights and they are not bad people just because they have an illness.......BULL!!! I read in a newspaper where a man raped and killed a 6 MONTH OLD BABY! How sick is that. They should cut it off and then put a bullit through his brain.

I agree! I also encourage EVERYONE on here to contact their congress people and LET THEM KNOW. The only way to change it is to get your state to pass harsher statutes with more severe sentencing guidelines. I've gladly signed your petition.

I say that if someone has been convicted of a sexual crime they should be automatically given a life sentence...that way we would avoid repeat offenders...duh people...is this not common sense? I wish the law makers would get a clue...honestly!

I agree with you. There do need to be harsher sentences given to those who commit sexual offenses.
Good job fighting for this!
