A pound of feathers and a pound of gold both weigh the same... the only difference is the volume. a pound of feathers would take up a lot more space than a pound of gold... as the gold is denser... duh!

I'm not sure about a pound, but I know a ton of feathers is weighed on a different standard than a ton of gold, and the feathers would weigh more that way...

One Troy ounce is about 10% heavier than the common Avoirdupois ounce. Avoirdupois is the system of weights using the pound of 16 ounces. Troy weight is the system of weights used for Gold, Silver and Jewels with twelve ounces to the pound.
That puts a pound of feathers at 16 oz avoirdupois, and a pound of gold would equal 12 + 10%, or 13.2 oz avoiurdupois. So feathers are heavier!

They may weigh the same but hey, if a gust of wind were to blow, that pound of feather will sure to fly.....
Moreever, if u drop both from a tall building and hit a man below, that gold will sure make him see red.

they weigh the same. but, if you want to get technical, the feathers would take up more mass, since it is spread out more than the gold is. the gold is more compact than the feathers.

Neither! They both weigh a pound therefore they weigh the same amount. Tricky question though, I like it. God bless!
