Whats the best lens I can get with 280 dollars?

Preferbably zoom or macro lenses. Or good at a everyday situation.

oh, i almost forgot, the lens is for a Canon EOS camera

Look on ebay for a used lens, or try adorama, calumet or b&h photo. They all have a selection of used lenses.

I recommend Sigma for Canon, they make very decent lenses at a fraction of Canon lenses.

You can get a 24-70 or a 28-70 f2.8 ex at that price; it's a good everyday lens with a fair range.

I like the 50mm f2.8 ex ; good macro although might not be best for insects since you need to go quite close for macro shots; the lens clear, and can be for everyday use too.

You should get any one of these lenses under US$280 each.

Sigma do some good lenses to fit Canon cameras. Check out your local camera accessory shops and also Ebay for lenses that fit your camera. good luck.
