the house I am buying is 2250 sq. ft, not icluding the undeveloped basement. Is that small, for a non millionaire?

that sounds pretty good, actually. my home is about 2000 sq ft, not including the basement and we have plenty of room.

That is a great house size! Jump on it if the price is right!

Average is about 1200 sq ft! You will have about double! Depending on the state & area, it might go pretty cheap or an arm, leg, & half of your middles!

that is huge...especially with the basement. The basement can always be finished later to be used as a craft area, workshop, playroom, whatever your family's needs are. It can be turned into a little apartment if you don't need the space and you can rent it out (if you have your house zoned as a 2 family unit)

screw what others think... what works for you and your familys happiness and financial abilities is what counts. Which means too big may not mean better because a house so big you loose track of everyone and the payments can strap a family.

That is a nice home...
