I prefer to love people who are around me, than an imaginary person whom I do not know whether exists.

Yes, I dont own my kids, God gave them to me to take care of. I will be with them all in heaven and God loves us more than I love them. God first and then my family. God is for my family. He does only good for us, why should I worry?

I do love God first, then my family comes next. My husband loves God first, then I come next. This is the way it is supposed to be.

Salvation is personal, sure i love my fam, but hey, on the last day my judgement will be personal and individual. Even identical twins will be judged individually. so yes you can and you should love God more than anything, anyone, anyplace else without neglecting your family.

Again love between lovers is different.Each type of love has its own place in our life.Now the question whether you can sacrifice love of your family or other love for the sake of love of God .Many people who have embraced monastic life in different religions have sacrificed their love of family for the sake of love God.Many religions consider such sacrifice as the highest sacrifice. and prescribe that one should make such sacrifice in the evening of life once your duties to your family are over ..
