eat a mad cow. (meaning an infected cow)

Yes, eating contaminated beef, particularly spinal, or brain material will do the job - though all meat has nerve tissue running through it so none of it is safe.

Another way to become infected with “Mad Cow” is to receive a blood transfusion that is from a person with the disease. Because of the long incubation period and the difficulty of testing for the disease agent in the blood, their may be thousands of people who have been infected this way already. Some cases have already been found.

Yes, your friend will die.

Mad cow, or more accurately Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy is a disease similar to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease where portions of the brain of an infected person (or cow) are damaged, and cannot be repaired. Eventually a large enough portion of the brain will be damaged that the person will die.

There is NO treatment, once infected, every infected animal will die, slowly, and painfully. Because of the part of the brain that the disease targets is believed that those who are infected remain fully conscious through the disease but simply loose control over their motor functions - giving the disease an even more frightening specter - remaining fully conscious, unable to move or communicate for a extended period of time, possibly in pain, simply watching yourself dieing.

Certainly not worth $20.00

If you are interested in more info (including why only an idiot would eat beef produced in America right now) google "kuru" and "vCJD"

And if you think that the USDA is keeping you safe, or that the American Beef industry is not complicit in this horrifying plague outbreak google “Mad Cow Oprah.”

Enjoy your next burger.

Good luck.
In order to get Mad Cow Disease you must eat infected beef. BSE has been found to be caused by cattle eating ruminant material from slaughtered cattle. It is now illegal to feed cattle ruminant material in the United States and almost everywhere else in the world. To those that think that USDA is not stopping this disease and that there is some conspiracy with American cattle producers, have you ever been in a packing plant? Any cattle that are 30 months of age or older (that is the youngest age ANY cattle can contract the disease) are marked and tested. There is also random testing of other cattle and any suspect material is tested. Of the cases thus far confirmed in the United States, no product from this cattle has reached consumers.

And yes your friend would die if he did find some way to get mad cow disease.

Most Americans are uninformed about agriculture and decide to get their "facts" from news and special interest groups. I was raised on a farm, I am majoring in Animals Sciences, and I am directly involved in animal agriculture.

By playing with crazy cows.

You have to eat meat from an infected cow. In all likelihood, you will have to go to another country to get the disease because all beef is tested thoroughly in the US and Canada. And YES, he could die. Mad Cow Disease actually causes encephalitis, which is basically an infection of the brain. Not something to pay with, and definitely not worth $20.

Tell your friend you're sorry but the bet can not be finalized (lucky for your friend). It would take a whole lot more than $20 to even find a cow that is infected with mad cow disease, then you'd have to pay for the cow, cut him up, cook him and eat him. Instead, go to the bar, buy a couple pitchers and have a good laugh...........on us!

You can only get mad cow disease if you are a cow.

Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is the "mad cow" disease that people contract when they are exposed to food contaminated with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).

Since Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease affects the brain, the symptoms it produces are neurological. It may start out subtly with insomnia, depression, confusion, personality and behavioral changes, and problems with memory, coordination, and sight. As it progresses, the person rapidly develops dementia and involuntary, irregular jerking movements called myoclonus.

In the final stage of the disease, the patient loses all mental and physical functions, lapses into a coma, and eventually dies. The course of the disease usually takes one year. The disease generally affects people between the ages of 50 to 75 years. Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is called "variant" because it has affected people at a younger age, even teenagers (the ages have ranged from 18 to 53 years old).

Most of the info that ***** gave is correct about how you get it, what it does, etc. However, I take exception to the comment about the USDA and cattle producers. As a cattle producer in Kansas I can assure the American beef consumer that we are doing everything in our power to ensure that our beef is safe. Our calves are not given antibiotics or growth hormones. We have to keep records of everything we feed, when our cows started calving, when they stopped calving, what sort of vaccinations they get, etc. We are glad to do this (O.K. we grumble a little) because consumers confident in our product keeps the prices up when we go to sell. If you prefer not to eat beef, that's fine...but don't go spreading lies about an industry you don't personally know anything about!

It DOES lose something in having to be typed, edited, and censored, it quite is in simple terms too undesirable, reason i assumed it grew to become into humorous... With the properly suited vocals and timing it would be even funnier... Will attempt it on acquaintances later at present... interior the period in-between, you get... ...a action picture star...! for attempt.
