I'm only 5'2", and my legs are very dwarfish compared to my long torso. I have a small chest, small arms, and am skinny pretty much everywhere from the waist up. My ankles are very short and my calves are also very wide and short. My thighs are extremely flabby and very disproportional to my upper body. I know you can't spot reduce, but is there a way to still slim down everywhere but create legs that are long and lean? I'm willing to diet and exercise.

hmm..I will suggest that you:

1) diet first to slim down your legs. You might want to try the detox diet that i did to help me lose 15kg in 2 months. (You can read about it here:http://dreamsincredibles.blogspot.com/2005/10/angel-lost-15kg-within-2-months.html)

2) Then to tone your legs, you might want to do leg raises, and lunges. Also, you might also want to go inline skating on a regular basis cos it is GREAT for shaping up the legs!

Good luck!

I feel your pain.. my friends call me circus midget.. I'm 5'2" also and I have to sometimes hem the petite pants... There isn't much you can do.. but you can make them look longer by the way you dress.. wearing pinstripe pants and wearing skirts that fall just above the knee.. and wearing pointy toed shoes.

I kind of have the opposit problem though.. I have little midget legs, but I have skinny ankles and muscular calves and am kind of chunky the rest of the way up. Thats just as much of a problem.. if I get things like capris that fit my thighs they look rediculus on my calves.. and even when a tennis shoe fits my feet, it makes my feet look huge because of my little bird ankles.

I like the machines at the gym designed for just your legs.. I can really feel it in my calves when I am doing those.

You can't beat genetics, you can only do your best to use fashion to your advantage. Learn techniques that will destract attention from your legs and back upwards to your longer body.
Try wearing more wide leg slacks and jeans. Linen slacks that are flowing and loose fitting rather than anything too form fitting at the leg. This will make your legs look longer and help focus the attention back upwards.

Theres no possible way to make your legs grow longer but the two best exercised for leaner legs are; lunges and squates and there are many variations of these exercises. look them up and chose the one thats right for you!

It won't happen. Go thank your parents for your genes now. I always thank mine for football shoulders and thick eyebrows!
