You need to go to your high school and read its student handbook -- this contains not only the student code of conduct, classes, a map of the school, but things like what Grade Point Average you need to have to obtain the honors chord and designation on your High School Diploma. Depending on the school -- it is usually at leat 3.6 GPA or Higher out of 4.0. Remember, the more you take a Honors Course or any Advanced Placement Courses - there is also higher weight on the grade from those courses, so it can help pull your GPA even above 4.0. Study Hard, do all your homework, and always do your best. That is the way you need to be in order to graduate any school with Honors

I would. I doubt someone's gonna be like "You there! Stop!" and make you take off the chord because your membership expired. Graduation is the time when students usually wear any medals or chords they've earned throughout high school so go for it! My friend last year wore a whole bunch of chords her brother had received like 5 years back in colors that they didn't even hand out anymore. lol So at least you earned yours. Congratulations class of 2012! :)

You know what, that's a good question. The honor society I belong to requires you to maintain a 3.5 in all your classes. The psych dept. at the college I just transferred to has a honor society, so the first place I'll go is to a counselors office to find out the requirements, I suggest you do the same....

Work hard!
There are 3 different categories of honors you can graduate with. They are latin terms: *** Laude, Magna *** Laude and Summa *** Laude. They all require a GPA of over 3.5.
