Lately I've been hearing so much fighting between the parties about who's right and who's wrong. Democrats, being the fans of democracy that they are, have voiced a sentiment that they want the republican party disbanded. How can we call ourselves a democracy if we can in good conscience rid ourselves of one party over another??

You're right, too much squabbling and bickering going on, not enough bipartisan activity to heal the country. One side thinks everything is wrong, one side thinks nothing is wrong. These parties act like they are from different countries, it's sad and it's dangerous. I am not gonna pretend like I have not contributed to such foolishness, but it is hard to refrain when there is so much senseless negativity. I am sorry and I truly wish all this would stop, it is hurting our nation

the major parties in our country have always changed. the original two were the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists, all throughout our history the "liberal" party has continued to get progressively more liberal until all of it's members start voting for the slightly less conservative party that has also been getting more liberal. if this pattern continues, and I think it is happenning now, soon the democratic party will become defunct as Democrats start voting for republicans and the libertarian party will become the new conservative party as republicans start voting for libertarians. this is just my own perception of events through US history. many of you will likely disagree. I feel that the predominance of red on the last presidential election map shows how far out of the "mainstream" the democrats are moving, but as some democrats start to move into the republican party it will become slowly more liberal, as is currently happening. this chain of events is already alienating truly conservative voters from the republican party. I will be paying far more attention now to the libertarian party than I did 4 years ago when I turned 18 and started to vote.

another point that seems to support my hypothesis is that the rhetoric from the democrats has become increasingly loathesome and vile in order to keep that party in the fore. i personally think that JFK would still be a democrat in today's world but he would be looked upon by the current leadership of the democratic party much the same way as Lieberman.

in today's america, little separates the democraps from the republikkkans. They both fit snuggly under the 'corporate party' label.

Bush works actively for big business and so did clinton.

The FACT is that MOST americans are NEITHER republikkkan or democrap and therefore have NOONE to vote for and no reason to vote.

and the scmuck a few posts before me who was talking about how RED the map was after the bush 2004 victory is full of it.

he forgets that a mere 120,000 votes in ohio separated john kerry from the white house (it sounds like a lot but it is a very small number statistically speaking)

he also forgets that bush LOST the popular vote in 2000.

and he neglects to mention the impact republikkkan fear-mongering tactics had; gay marriage ammendments in 11 states brought many people out to the poles.

i give karl rove credit. i may think the man a spineless, morally bankrupt pitiful soul, but he sure can manipulate an ignorant electorate through fear and lies.

Part of the problem is that we have a 2-party system. How can the two parties represent the views and needs of millions of Americans. Overall, it seems to me that the country has gone downhill fast since the Republicans took office. There are major legal scandals that breach the constitution. I do think the Democrats are more concerned about the welfare of the average citizen, as opposed to the rich. And I think they would do a better job of running the country and helping the rest of the world to respect the USA again.

I think their should be a third mainstream party. A progressive moderate party that takes in both dems and republicans. I am a repulican bc of tradition in my family but I am more like a democrate and I cannot come to the point to say that I am altough I really am. so I would say go progressives.

The seeds are planted and the Republicans are fertilizing them and watering them on a on a daily basis foundation. the subject is, however, that most of the unfavourable and disenfranchised nonetheless a manner or the different relate to the Reps....in line with risk they think of that with complicated artwork they'll all be wealthy sometime. (And take it from this complicated worker, it "ain't inevitably so".) We shop listening to from the Reps that if we would basically "artwork for a residing" and "purchase coverage" we would all be properly-off. Very confusing while jobs are to no longer be had, and the few that are accessible do no longer pay sufficient to feed and look after us. i did no longer could be converted, so, with me, you're preaching to the choir! yet, I do see that tables will turn for many interior the very close to destiny. in line with risk the Reps are too "cocky" approximately their place good now, because of the fact of their connection to the "decider", yet quickly he won't be there, and that they'll could "make certain" for themselves. The Reps look to think of that multiple minor subject concerns could properly be blown up into "bridges" merely via making use of those keyword phrases, like: family individuals, morals, duty, and so on. even with the undeniable fact that it heavily isn't long till human beings see by way of those to what quite lies below, till they see that Reps have no unique possession of those values. If I have been a Rep good now, i could start to think again my condescending concepts-set.

Democrats are warped, that's why. They say one thing and practice another. They claim to hold ownership on civil rights, intelligence and so on, but never do anything to help the problems the speak of. Repubs are full of Oxygen thieves too, but they do seem act more.

The Democrats will do or say anything to get back in power. Just look at who they appointed head of their Party...John Dean. Listen very carefully to what he says.
