He isn't normal he loves the hose but won't go swimming in the pool. He fell in when he was a puppy how can I get him to get in a play in the pool??

that is the same thing with my lab!! it is so wierd! i was hoping someone would know how to help me but when i go to the beach with him he doesnt go in. he only pees and poops in it. arrg. and i feel so dissapointed when i see other dogs who just run into the water. it's not fair.

Take him to a lake and throw a stick in. Maybe he only like lake water or pond water. That would be a more natural environment for him to swim. If you are talking about a pool in your back yard he may not like the smell of the chemicals. At least you don't have to worry about when he shakes off as much.

That's a very unusual lab! Maybe it's just the pool he has an issue with and he might take to a different body of water?

Hey - You mean I'm not the only one with this problem? My three Labs did the same thing. Then I noticed what the problem was - if they can't get out easy enough then they won't go back in. SOOOO I made a floating ramp so they can get out. Well it worked with two of them. Or you can try using a favor toy to trick them in.
