I got confused after listening to that song from South Park the Movie. It says they aren't even a real country. Is this true? Or are they a country? I don't mean to offend Canadians, I just wanna know. If it isn't a country, what is it?

Well I thought it was like a kingdom or whatever. I wasn't sure!

Hey there, yes it is a country, in south park they probably confused it because canada isn't made up of offical states or offical territorys, its made up of provinces and other just owned territorys. But yes it is a country, ignore the rude comments other people wrote, and your probably thought it was a kingdom because its type of government is a monarchy right, its ok, everyone makes mistakes :)

Oh pleeeez! Peach, your questions tell me you don't know much about our country at all. Where are you from? Canada is a country. A real, live, independent country. We have a prime minister, Stephen Harper. We will be hosting the 2010 olympics at Whistler and Vancouver, both in the province of British Columbia, which is on the West Coast. Canada is one of the largest countries in the world. It is bigger than the United States.
Canadian bacon was indeed developed in Canada. Why do you think it is called Canadian?
What you need to do is read up a little bit on this fair COUNTRY, and then plan to come and visit, so you can see for yourself what a great place it is.

Yes, Canada is a country. As a matter of fact, it is the second largest country by area.

South Park is not a good resource for anything educational or even intelligent. When all else fails, Wikipedia.

I'll let others help you with the first part of your question, I'll just add that South Park is a CARTOON.

Do you believe everything you hear on it? What about the Road Runner cartoon - how does the coyote manage to keep living despite being blown up so many times???

Life is very confusing when we get our news from the Cartoon Channel.

Of course it's a country. Don't take South Park at face value. Learn to tell the difference between comedy central and reality.

Whatever you do, don't ask a Canadian they are SO PC that they'd have a difficult time answering that effectively without worrying if they are offending you!

Actually Canada is the Capital of NEW YORK, I just heard that from Playboy's Miss June on the Howard Stern show!

Of course Canada is a country. Many Americans seem to think they own Canada or it is a state. We have close ties to the queen and England still.

Of course it's a country. In fact, it's the largest trade partner with the United States (which is where I'm assuming you're from, considering your ignorance.)

It's also a Commonwealth of the former British Empire.
