shes 2 and gets walked everyday with a backpack to release extra energy she has gone to basic training and is a great dog except those annoying little habits. Im at my wits end and my husband is threatning to get rid of her. I could use any kind of advice. Ive tried puttin poop in the holes, and then she also chews on anything left out I put a pool for the kids she chewed on that too. She has toys and I spend lots of time with her. She also has my other dog for companionship. I was told it could be boredom. How? I dont know. I take her to the park to practice agility training its becoming more than a full time job on her and she still gets in to trouble HELP!!!!! I love my dog and am more than willing to work with her I just dont know what else to do. Ive had her for a year and she has come along way from the nervous shy dog I first found at the shelter. Could it be Im not the right owner for her? She is a I think a australian shep\ corgie mix and who knows what else. But I love her!

MY MY do I feel for you we just got our dog to QUIT chewing she still digs though.

We got her to quit chewing by spatting her with the newspaper when we caught her. We took ALL of her chew toys away till we got her broke from chewing on the wrong things (she doesn't understand why she can chew on this but not that) so take it all away.

As for the digging we live in the country so I just let her dig till her hearts content cant help you on that one.

REMEMBER that australian sheps MUST herd something. She's probably VERY VERY bored. She needs SOOO much excerise and needs to actually CHASE live objects like birds and etc. They are usually farm animals that herd sheep. Try putting BITTER APPLE on things you don't want her to chew on. That's what i heard gets rid of the chewing.

With dogs, you really have to catch them in the act to tell them to stop digging. Or cut her nails? I'm not sure about the digging because my dog is an indoor dog.

Where she chews rub it good with tabasco sauce or red pepper flakes and where she digs put her fresh poop in the hole and cover it enough for her to think you are covering her hole, but when she tries to redig the hole and gets her own poop on her paws she will not dig there again, so every hole she digs put her poop in it. Make sure the holes you fill with poop are her most recent ones.

my pitbull likes to chew and bite things, and dig holes. I keep her on a leash and pull her away from digging holes and such. also she is kept in a cage at night. i found if you tap her nose or blow into it she slowly stops biting.

Tie her up with a long leash in the garden. You can let her loose under supervision.
