If it's a new stain sometimes just immediately running it under water will help, or even get it off completely. I always have used Oxy Clean. However, when I just got a stain on my shirt of oil I ran it under water and then used one of those Tide sticks, and the stain did come out. But I think for stains that have been set in for a while Oxy Clean is best.

I would saturate the stain with dishwashing detergent first, then soak in a little water overnight. Check the area and scrub gently with a brush before washing in COLD water and hang dry. Make sure you don't apply any heat to the material (washing, drying or ironing) until you are sure the stain is gone, because heat will set it.

Use alcohol or any degreaser. Fresh cat liter will work if you rub it in good and let stand an hour . It's just a clay oil arbsorbent.

Resolve Carpet Cleaner
Don't ask but it works MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK IT BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN THE DRYER. You might have to do it twice for really bad marks.
