There are many rituals in any religion, the dunking under the water signifies baptism in Christ (the beliefs of Christianity). The eating of the host (what you are calling a cracker), signifies the body of Christ, as the wine signifies his blood; as He gave his Life for Our Sins. You need to become more educated about all religions and more tolerant of other peoples beliefs. You may not be crazy (which is an old term for mental illness.) You are, however ignorant and uneducated. Do not insult that which you do not understand, that type of thinking has led to a lot of the conflict in the world today. Be happy for your sister that her religious beliefs are improving her life, and she wants you to be included in something that is positive because of her sisterly love for you. Best wishes to you.

Matthew 24:13 says "He who endures to the end will be saved". A person's final salvation is not determined at the moment he puts faith in Jesus.
Hebrews 10:26 says "for if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left" . The Bible does not go along with the idea that no matter what sins a person may commit after he is "saved" he will not lose his salvation.
So I hope you don't believe "once saved always saved".
The Israelites were once saved by God and considered to be his chosen people but Jude 5 reminds us that "he who "saved" a people out of the land of Egypt afterward destroyed those who did not believe."
As for your Sister, Jesus gathered his disciples together the night before he was to be turned over and executed and constituted the lords evening meal, he at that time "took a loaf and after giving thanks, he broke it and said "This means my body which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me."". (1 Cor. 11:24) Sometimes today in various religions a cracker like wafer is used.
As for the dunking....well being submerged in water then "brought up out of the water" is simply symbolic, in that you upon chosing to live your life as one dedicated to God, you, as it were leave your old life, the old way of doing things behind and so you are washed clean of your past sins to begin a new life in service to God.
This however much like the being saved belief does not guarantee that you cannot be held accountable for any sins you commit after that time.
Neither of you are "crazy" you are each trying to do what you think is the best, just keep questioning to make sure, both of you, that you are doing God's will because that is more important than any ritual.
If you sincerely want to serve him and know the truths from the Bible "keep on asking, keep on seeking" (Matthew 7:7) and he will help you learn the truth. Just be willing to except and recognize what he sends.

well, that is a really bad misrepresentation of some of our Christian beliefs and things we do. I suggest rather than calling each other crazy (because that is not a very christian way to talk to people either) try to listen and understand each others point of view. I certainly don't think you are crazy because you are not saves, I just think that oyu don't have an understanding of what that means. With an open mind, ask her why she does these things and what being saved means to her. That does not mean you have to run out and 'get saved' just try to understand her rather than calling her crazy without really knowing what she is doing and what she is about. You never know- you might learn something life changing- at the very least you will have a better relationship with your sister

I don't think either of you are crazy. Everyone has a different point of view on religion and a different view about life in general.
People have the freedom to beleive in what they want to beleive in..However, I don't agree that people should push their beleifs on anyone else. It is for you to decide what you beleive in, but a good person and a good family member would encourage her to do somthing that is worth while for her own life. I mean, it could be worse, she could be out there sleeping around, doing drugs or running with gangs. If she is doing somthing that makes her a better person, you should support her for it. You both should support each other. There will be a time in your life when you will need her to support you for somthing and you will be glad you were there for her..

You think it's crazy because you don't understand what's going on spiritually, because you're not saved!......In response to your question is: Your sister is taking "Communion"!...The cracker represents Jesus Body, and the juice represents Jesus Blood that He shead at Calvery for our sins! (1 Cor. 11: 24-31), if you read these verses you may get a better understanding of what's going on!...but on the other hand, if you're not saved it's going to be very hard for you to understand!......(John 3 : 3)......

She is crazy. In my opinion being so involved in your religon is just an excuse to escape reality. Does she think it's ok to sin if she dunks herself under water when she's done? And she's eating Jesus? She's crazy.

Anger is a kind of insanity because it makes you feel sorry afterwards. However, if you do not feel sorry, your lunacy is confirmed

If you think about it, this applies to your situation, If you dont think about it you will see me as just another crazy person. But thats okay they called all the prophets crazy too.

Your only saved if you want to be if your get dunked as you put it and don't want to it has no real effect..the point of it is asking for forgiveness..Personally I thought Jesus died on the cross for our sins. If this is true why do i have to wash them away when I know I'm just going to sin again..never really understood it.

John the Baptist originally baptized for forgiveness of sins, but that changed. Jesus had no sin, yet he insisted that John baptize him ... in symbol of his presenting himself to do God's will. Christ has died for the forgiveness of sins. True baptism now is to symbolize a person's voluntary accepting the responsibilities of becoming a footstep-follower of Christ in following his lead ...
"... true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, ... God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.” John 4:23
... Jesus said: “The first [commandment] is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’ ... There is no other commandment greater [than this].” Mark 12:28-31
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. (Ps 83:18 KJV)

I think both of you need to respect each other and quit calling each other crazy. Everybody has one person's spirituality to manage...their own. Let others define how they want to worship; if that is her way of connecting with Jesus, so be it. At the same time, she needs to respect and not criticize where you are. Both of you are being extreme and judgmental. Stop it.
