Who is the Holy Spirit is a better question. Some people believe (me included) in the Trinity of God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was sent to comfort us in the book of Acts (New Testament).

The holly spirit is not a person but its Gods active force. people can be filled, baptized, and anointed with the holly spirit. None of these would be posible if it were a person. The scriptures also say that it could "teach", "give testimony", "talk" and "hear". its not rare that things get personificated in the Bible, for example like, death has children or that sins are kings etc. ect. although the bible says that the holly spirit talked, it was clearly done by angels or human biengs(acts 4:24, 25. Ma. 10:19,20) the identification of the holly spirit has to match all the texts.

The Holy Spirt is the enity that is part of the Holy Trinity that assists in helping you understand the will of God. The Holy Spirit is a still small voice that speaks to your soul when you pray and recieve some sort of answer. If it is right you should recieve a burining in your bosom and a quite piece of mind other wise you will recieve a stupor of thought that takes away from your orignal question

the Holy Spirit is in everything... you ever see any of the Star Wars movies? well, the Holy Spirit is like the force... it's God's presence here on Earth, then you have the Father in heaven, and Jesus as a transitional being...

The holy spirit is God, promised to people by Jesus before he died. The holy spirit came at pentacost (which was shortly affter the asension) and gave gives to the apostles, tongues, prophecy, things like that. The holy spirit has been given to each of us, and enables us to do God's work. the bible says "it quickens us" He guides us, strengthens us, gives us the gifts of the spirit, he can teach us things, give us supernatural insight to things, and he makes your faith work.

I see a pattern in the Holy Trinity and the rest of creation. The Holy Spirit is the craftsman of God. God the Father is the architect, and God the Son is the substance of creation. Just like in cooking: the Father is the recipe (mental part of creating), Son the ingredients (physical part of creation), and the actual process of cooking (spiritual part of creation).

I feel the Holly Spirit with me more times than not. It is a still small voice that makes you know when you do right and it also lets you know when you do wrong but you have to be a good listener and use your good instincts. It all depends on if you have a conscious and want to be at peace with your soul.
