If you kill a person it is said that you still have a chance to go to heaven if you repent for it. If you kill your own self then you are doomed for eternity. So someone might go around and kill half the world’s population and god would find it in his heart to forgive them if they changed their mind afterwards, but if you kill your own self he will make you pay.
Does anyone else find this a bit ODD?!

I don’t see how god can forgive a soldier for killing an invader while defending his country (and not taking over another’s country) when he turned the other cheek when he got slapped. Though, personally, I agree with defending ones country or face for that matter…

It's not only odd, it isn't even Biblical. Where in the Bible does it say you go to hell for suicide?

I don't necessarily think you will go to hell if one kills them self. I don't know where this is found in the bible unless they are talking about Judas hanging himself after betraying Jesus. God looks into the heart of people. A person who commits suicide, many times has mental or emotional problems to the point they have listened to Satan's lie that they should kill themselves. God's judgment is pure and He makes no mistakes. He will know if that person really couldn't take anymore, although, (He says he will never put more on you than you can take). We should not make assumptions either way , God will judge it.

The logic to me is that while your actually alive your given every oppurtunity in the world to seek forgiveness and repent and try not to go back to sinning, but when you die thats it you have no more chances... Plus God never burdens a person more then they can bare so they are loosing faith in God's plan when they give up.
Pray that helps

You can;t repent of the sins of suicide after you died. and to think that you can before you killed yourself would place you with a reprobate mind. Meaning that if you did something and you knew with was against God and did it anyway God will not hear you.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate

It's not ok to kill someone, but you are still among the living so that you can still repent of that sin, and not do it again.

Defintion of reprobate-A primitive root; to spurn; also (intransitively) to disappear: - abhor, cast away (off), contemn, despise, disdain, (become) loathe (-some), melt away, refuse, reject, reprobate, X utterly, vile person.

I wished I knew what I could tell you, I had a family member who committed suicide and I would like to believe that he is forgiven and he is in heaven. But to kill and ask for forgiveness and do it again and again I don't think God will forgive that. I'm not talking war that is kill or be killed.

I heard a long time ago the suicide is unforgiveable. But it is forgiven based on the circumstance. For instance, It depends on whether you are in your right mind when you made the choice to kill yourself. If you are under the influence of demons and killed yourself. There is a story in the bible where Saul went and inquired of a witch to know his future. Samuel arose from the dead and told Saul that him and his sons who be where he is (in paradise). Eventually, while Saul was in battle, because of the fear the Phillistines which were coming for him, threw himself on a sword and killed himself.

Who told you u are forgiven over and over again if u killed someone? And yes you have sined if you take your own life, cause life and death is in the hands of God not man. Its not You who decide when u want to die its God.

No. It seems pretty logical to me if you're talking about a soldier doing his job. But if you're speaking of a serial killer then they have to take that matter up with a higher authority in the hereafter.

Within christianity, if you kill yourself, there is no chance, no opportunity to repent, or be forgiven.
