If wisdom tooth--get it pulled. Even one back molar you can live without. You may consider an implant. Pricey but worth it.

If you're OK for a cash, do the root canal. Better to save a tooth than lose it. If the roots are cracked, nothing can save that.

We went thru that and the dentists was an idiot. If he lifted up the gum and looked he could have avoided a root canal and seen it was pointless. Cost us over $2,000 all tolled and now my wife needs an implant which'll run $3,000 min.

If it's the very back tooth get it pulled won't make any difference. If it is any other tooth get a root canal, but once you have a root canal you have to have the tooth capped. So make sure you follow up with that or you could end up loosing the tooth later on.

There is no other option for an infected tooth. I always recommend the root canal over the extraction because I would rather see people save their teeth. I know it can cost more, but your teeth can last you a life time if you try to save them. Good luck

I would ask for some antiobiots that might take the pain away until you can come up with the money for a root canal and crown. The antibiotics should take the infection away for quite a while.By the way root canals are not that bad at all.

I've had two root canals done, and it wasn't bad at all. I rather have that done, then to be missing the tooth. I just hope you have dental insurance, b/c you don't want to have to pay all of that out of your own pocket. The longer you wait, the more pain you're going to be in. The problem isn't going to just go away, sorry.

Do not pull your teeth.Once they're gone they're gone for good.Nothing can replace them as comfortably as they are.Save them as much as you can.If you have to borrow money or work overtime.I am an RDA for 12 years and trust me I've seen alot.If you get your check ups every six months.you're not gonna need a major work.It is better to fix a small cavities, than a whole Root canal.Just get your teeth fixed and maintain with regular check ups and cleanings.

Not if you leave off doing nothing. I gather you want to do something because of the pain or swelling or so.
