obviously your cat is a climber. cats often love to look outside of windows and doors. i agree with the person that suggested putting up things your cat is allowed to climb on. put up shelves with carpet scraps, have a tall cat tree, or other high up things for her to climb. then put her toys there or treats. encourage her to play there. citric scents work pretty well as a deterrent for cats. you could spray your door tops, curtains, anywhere else she isn't allowed to climb. that way, it stops her from wanting to go there and she has an alternate place to perch. give her praise and attention, as well as treats, when she goes to the places she is allowed to sit on (your home-made or store bought cat trees/shelves). if you cannot put up cat trees/shelves, then at the very least give her a place to look out of the windows. set a chair next to the window sill or put a bed next to a door that she could see out of (like pull up the blinds far enough off of the ground for her to see out, or something similar if you can). the plastic claw covers would help while you are in this transition stage. they go over the claws and do not harm the cat or the claws and they will fall off eventually. kind of like cat press-on nails or french tips. :)
good luck.

Is it a Siamese cat by any chance? Our siamese cat used to climb the drapes and hang out at the top and look at us. The person that said to spray with a water bottle has the right idea. The cat tree also sound like a good idea.

Cat behavior, although different, has some similarities to unruly child behavior. Is she still a kitten? Have you allowed this to continue, with no consequences? The declawing, would stop, the climbing, but, may not stop the 'menacing'. Cats are obviously 'curious'. (Curiousity killed the cat...) As soon as she understands certain areas, are off limits, with some action to follow, I believe you'll see a difference. If you can make, or set up an area, that would be hers, and off limits to everyone, else. I sure she would appreciate it.Cats love to perch. It gives them a better view, on things.

First of all declawing does not mean it will completly stop. Cats are jumpers remember? Also declawing is very bad for the cat's health please don't do it! Definetly get your cat things to play with, balls, play mice, and etc. A cat house would be a very good investment. You can also sprinkle thing that have citrus smell were your cat gets into because they don't like the smell and won't go were they smell it (usually). If you can't afford cat condos get him a box and sprinkle some catnip in it so that he will stay concentrated on the box and not as much on the house.

There are pet repel sprays you can use on curtains and things. I don' t think they work all that well, my cats didn't seem to notice it.
To modify behavior, try a spray bottle. When she climbs something you don't want her on, spray her with water. She'll get the idea after a little while. It seems mean, but it doesn't hurt, it just annoys them, and they don't seem to associate it with the person spraying, just with what they're doing.

I guess that I don't think that your cat is Psycho! I think that you cat is a normal happy active cat/kitten.
I consider that behavior pretty Normal for a healthy animal.
That being said, the water spray bottle cure is the best and safest one out there.
So my answer is not the best, but I urge you to use the answer from the water bottle spray person because I know many folks who have whipped their kitties into submission that way, and...NO ONE GETS HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you kidding? Your cat sounds adventurous.
Get her a cat tree, or make one yourself. Put high shelves in rooms and tack carpet scraps up so she can climb to them. Maybe you can use bits of plastic shower curtain to make the drapes slippery to climb and get her to stay off them.

Yeah, the cat toy thing good idea. But if you don't have the money to spend on one of those cat toy things, get you some of those stackable milk crates.Use the twist ties to secure them and you can make different patterns. Also they make good places for the cat to sleep,by turning one crate away from the room.Kinda like a kitty haven.Good luck with the wild one!

Get your cat a climbing scratching post or simply take your cat to the vet to get nail covers on them the vet should charge you about twenty dollars or more.

wal-mart sells an inexpensive cat tree. with shelves and carpeting on them. it has a tension rod to adjust to any ceiling height. My cat used to sit on top of our doorways too. i purchased this and placed it near our window/back door and she can be found there all the time.
