I think the question here is that you want to homeschool someone else's children. Is that correct? Well, being that I homeschool in KY, homeschooling itself is not against the law. In fact, the law here is more lax than it is in a lot of other states in that we don't have to test our children here. They only get tested if they go into school, so that the school board knows where to place them.
I think it IS illegal to homeschool someone else's children, but I'll check and edit my answer

Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states. HOWEVER - each state has their own laws and regulations. Start your info search at the HSLDA website - they have a quick overview of the regulations in all 50 states (notification, testing requirements, teacher 'certification', etc.) Some states require 'tutors' - you teaching someone else's kids - to be certified/degreed.
