To his day, purring is still a mystery. People often think that purring is a sign of happiness, but it isn't always the case. Cats purr when they are adgitated or sick. They use their purr as a means of healing themselves.

Cats purr when they are happy, but they can also be purring when they are nervous. One of my cats just seems to purr if you look at him, because he loves all kinds of attention.
