For those of you who went the route of cloth diapers for your children, what did your cloth diaper layette consist of?

Here's an overview of what I had for my first baby when I was starting out.

4 dozen standard flat cloth diapers. (Great for burping too).
8 pairs of rubber pants. (Pull-on style).
6 sets of diaper pins.
1 diaper pail.
A dozen baby wash cloths.
1 box of flushable diaper liners. (Great for those new baby meconium poops).

As time went by and as I needed certain things, I just went out and bought them. Hard to believe I'm on baby #3 and still using cloth diapers. Shame on everyone who told me I wouldn't be able to make it with cloth diapering.

That is just about exactly what I used. When the babies outgrow the diapers and you aren't having any more, they become REALLY great cleaning cloths! My aunt gave me all of hers, and they are going on 23 years of use now.

Fantastic! Great! Just Wonderful! All for using cloth diapers. The best thing for your baby.

When mine were growing up I also used cloth, it is so much better for the baby and they potty train younger when they wear cloth diapers. The disposables are so uncomfortable, parents wonder why their babies cry so much, change to cloth and see if that doesn't reduce the crying.

Now that I'm much older (much, much older) I again am using cloth, the only difference is that it is for myself. Due to medical conditions I now have to wear a diaper 24 / 7 or have wet pants all the time. I am using cloth for the same reasons as I used them on my babies. Disposables are hot and uncomfortable, cloth is so much better. If our babies could talk, they would tell you the same thing.

I suggest that every parent should wear disposables all day every day for a week just so they know what their baby is going to feel. I'll bet they put their child in cloth.

i used them too , but came to like the one plastic pants that velcro . had a pin incident that freaked me out and felt bad . so i stopped using pins if possible . my ex freaked out at the cost when we paid for everything at the check out . he complained for an hour . we then went back in the store , i grabbed my calculater and added up 3 months of disposable diapers and wipes , then he shut up !
since i was using cloth diapers i also bought some cheap wash cloths insteadof wipes . gotta do laundry everyday any way !

I had 18 Fuzzi Bunz and 6 Wonderoos (though she didn't fit into those until she was 4 weeks and 10lbs.) I wanted something easy since I was new to the world of babies (had only held one baby before and I that was 12 years before my daughter was born.)

The new baby (due in Feb) will have the FB's, the Roo's and some prefolds, though I don't currently have any covers in small size, nor do I use pins.

I wanted to use cloth diapers so bad, but my son was a preemie and I had so many appointments for doctors and therapists that I was never home to use them. They are so much better for their skin. I hate the disposibles because they have the gel that gets on their delicate skin.
