Considering he was driving recklessly and negligently, I'd say it's very, very bad. I'm not sure about the laws in your state, but he may be facing serious jail time.

very bad for him yes he can be tried as an adult he should have been responsible and drove with some since then he wouldn't be facing those kind of charges... he could be looking at life

at 17 hes an adult he should have know better

i dont think it will help him if he is a good person have great grade or any of that stuff and yes it will be serious court with a jury and all

According to FL law, the maximum penalty for a 2nd degree felony (such as vehicular homicide) is 15 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. I would suggest that he find a very good lawyer and hope he gets a lenient judge.

It all depends on how your friend pleads. If he pleads not guilty, then he will go to court. If he pleads guilty, make sure he gets a plea bargain with the prosecutor.

I hate to sound hard, but he broke the law and killed 2 people. He is facing the possibility of doing some long hard time. If he has a really good lawyer and a lenient judge and an understanding jury he might get off light. But your friend is going to jail.

In my state that can carry up to 7 years in jail for each count. It is very serious and I'm sorry to hear that happened. Driving can be very dangerous and as you can see, bad decisions can ruin lives. I been in the insurance business for 20 years, and have seen my share of these stories, and I am just amazed at how so many people young and old take chances when they drive. Be careful out there....
